LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS IN THE MID EASTERN REGION!

Eagle Point Hundesport Club member Sam Woska submitted some items for the Mid Eastern Regional meeting yesterday, Saturday 9/5/2026. Both items revolved around our Regional FB page and Regional website, neither of which contains any current event information, information on current USCA rules, or helpful information regarding how to get started in our wonderful sport.

As Sam discussed, social media is an important component in sharing information, engaging members and hopefully attracting prospective new young members to our USCA organization.

There was agreement and Regional Director, Mark Scarberry, plans on forming a committee to address/redesign how our region presents information to our members and the public on social media. To that end, we are looking for those interested in helping with that plan. If you are interested in being part of this committee, please send an email to Mark Scarberry at [email protected] - we encourage everyone to contribute to making our region, and our sport, more accessible for the next generation of dog handlers!

EXCITING NEWS!
PLAN ON JOINING US IN SEPTEMBER 2027!

Eagle Point Hundesport is proud to announce that ASOVAL Judge Alberto Gamboa Yamuni, who will be judging all Female classes at the 2027 USCA Sieger Show, has agreed to come and judge a Breeding Evaluation & Breed Survey at our club!

We will know the exact dates within the month, once the dates for the 2027 German Sieger Show are decided. Alberto has agreed to give us first choice on his remaining Sept dates for our event. As soon as we know the dates we will be creating a FB event page to keep everyone updated.

Being about a month prior to the 2027 USCA Sieger Show will allow competitors a chance to have Alberto critique your dog!

At the Mid Eastern Regional meeting yesterday, we had put in a bid for this event to be the Regional event, however we did not win the bid. Rather the club hosting this year’s Regional Breeding Evaluation was awarded the event again. But that does not change our club’s desire to provide competitors access to our Sieger Show judge!

We have been sitting on this information for well over a month and are excited we can now share it with everyone. So, mark your calendars and plan on joining us for a Great weekend!

ONLY A FEW WORKING SPOTS LEFT! To reserve your space you must contact us to register and pay the event fee no later than September 4, 2026 to hold your spot! Audit places are still available but must also be paid for by September 4, 2026.

The seminar will be held the weekend of September 12-13, 2026, in Lodi OH, with a limited number of slots for Working Dogs and Unlimited Audit opportunities!

Lunch is included.

New Information from USCA regarding Breed Surveys done at a USCA Event!

Hello USCA Clubs:

We have an announcement

Breed Survey Scorebook Requirement:

When hosting a Breed Survey, all dogs with a USCA scorebook must have the Breed Survey page completed in its scorebook. This requirement applies regardless of whether the Breed Survey is officiated by a USCA judge or an SV/WUSV-recognized judge.

Clubs are responsible for ensuring that the Breed Survey page in the USCA scorebook is completed for any dog that has a USCA scorebook. This ensures that the official Breed Survey results are properly recorded in the dog's scorebook and maintained as part of its permanent record.

THE LANGUAGE OF JUDGES.

This is an excellent article that has just been written by Professor Dr Heinrich Messler and Lothar Quoll. In that order, past 8-year president of the SV/WUSV and SV Federal Breed Warden.

This is the first public presentation of it, and I thank both gentlemen for that privilege
Anyone who is a German Shepherd Dog specialist judge and considers themselves to be in any way authoritative needs to read this.

Introducing the NEW, FREE Online SV Events Handler Database!

When clubs host SV events, one of the most common questions they receive is, "Can you recommend a handler?" To help answer that question year-round, Eagle Point Hundesport Club has created a FREE online SV Events Handler Database available for all clubs, competitors, and handlers.

The database serves two important purposes:
• Handlers can create a profile with their contact information and list the events they plan to attend, making it easy for competitors to find and contact them.
• Competitors can search the database to locate handlers who will be available at upcoming events.

One of the greatest advantages of the database is that handlers create their own secure login, allowing them to update their contact information and event schedule at any time. Because the database is ongoing, it is not limited to a single event—it remains available throughout the year for all participating clubs and competitors.

Handlers: Even if you haven't finalized your event schedule, we encourage you to create your profile now. Adding your contact information makes you visible to competitors looking for assistance, and you can update your event availability whenever your plans change.

We invite all handlers to join the database and help make it easier for competitors and clubs to connect at SV events.
