JUST ARRIVED... Classic power that still turns heads.The Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman is pure no-nonsense .357 Magnum muscle. Built on the legendary N-frame from 1954–1986, this was the workingman’s version of the fancy Model 27 — same rock-solid guts, same six-shot capacity, same ability to handle full-house magnums or milder .38 Specials, but with a practical matte blue finish made for hard use instead of the high-polish showpiece look.Available mostly in 4" and 6" barrels, it became a favorite of highway patrol agencies across the country (and a lot of hunters and home-defense folks who wanted something that could stop a threat and take a beating). The “-2” engineering changes brought the updated cylinder stop and other refinements that collectors still appreciate.Heavy, accurate, smooth double-action, and built like a tank. 🔎 Before his African adventures, John Buhmiller built his reputation one r***e barrel at a time.

Known as “Uncle John,” the Kalispell, Montana, barrel maker and big-game hunter combined precision craftsmanship with a relentless curiosity about r***e performance. His custom barrels earned respect among shooters, but Africa offered a demanding proving ground for his ideas.

Buhmiller began hunting in Africa in his sixties, pursuing dangerous game and drawing on those experiences to evaluate his custom r***es and big-bore cartridge designs. His story connects two worlds: the careful work of the gunsmith’s shop and the practical demands of the field.

🔧 A craftsman. A hunter. An experimenter whose adventures deserve a place in fi****ms history.

🏕️ Hunter. Storyteller. Legend.
Robert Ruark (1915–1965) lived the kind of life most outdoor writers only dream about. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, he grew up hunting and fishing the Carolina coast under the guidance of his grandfather—stories that later became the beloved classics The Old Man and the Boy and The Old Man’s Boy Grows Older.In the early 1950s he finally chased his boyhood dream to Africa. That first safari with professional hunter Harry Selby produced Horn of the Hunter, still regarded by many as one of the finest books ever written about the African hunting experience. Africa then gave him the raw material for his blockbuster novel Something of Value and later works like Uhuru and Use Enough Gun.Ruark called himself “the poor man’s Hemingway,” but his sharp wit, vivid storytelling, and deep love of the hunt made him a singular voice. Whether writing about quail coveys in the South or tracking elephant in Kenya, he captured the soul of the outdoor life like few others.Still worth reading. Italian craftsmanship meets everyday reliability. 🇮🇹🔥
The Franchi Diamond 12-gauge over/under is that sweet spot sh***un — elegant enough to turn heads at the range, tough enough for a full day in the field. Blued or silver-receiver versions with classic scroll engraving, checkered walnut stock, vent-rib barrels (usually 27.5–28”), auto-ejectors, single selective trigger, and a set of choke tubes.

Born Phoebe Ann Mosey in 1860, she grew up hunting to help feed her family and became one of the greatest sharpshooters the world has ever seen. She could hit a coin tossed in the air, shoot the ash off a cigarette, and split a playing card edge-on from 90 feet away.
As the star of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show, she dazzled audiences across America and Europe, proving that skill, grit, and showmanship had no gender.
A true American legend.
