Stole from our friend Nicholas Mumma the other day and I forget if it was on the Gravel page or Bike Packing. But the question was "What is your longest gravel Race". Umm Unbound Gravel does have 350, our friends at Gravel Worlds has 300, but what makes our Coal Country Roubaix 300 different is ours has 35K of climbing🤠. Last week talking to Deborah Bowling and getting her help trying to make the 300 a World Ultra-Cycling Association Championship ( Chris Stevens 😉😉). I honestly don't know many 300+ gravel races in the Country and with Dirty Water Roubaix dying this year we are the only Ultra distance gravel race in Ohio. Hopefully ya'll join us April 24th 2027, also remember we have 50K, 100K and 100 miles for those that don't want the crazy 24hr + adventure. Please remember we also don't have a time cut off, do it in 1 shot or a bikepacking adventure.

We added Taggert Hill on last years 100 miler. In 2027 it will again appear on the 100 miler but its also added to the 100K. Its a 1 mile 9% grade average with several 20% kickers. But that isn't what makes it the most difficult. It is a narrow almost single lane road, lots of loose dirt and gravel, exposed rocks the whole way up and plenty of wash outs. It is a "NO WINTER MAINTENANCE" road, so road crews won't work on it until May 1st. Luckily for you we are the last weekend in April so you will feel its full Rowdiness

September 26th is at Mt.Davis Gravel Grinder and YOU SHOULD BE THERE!!! Heather Lawhorn isn't able to attend with me so if you are in Ohio and want to ride over there is plenty of room in the Van. WOULD LOVE THE COMPANY!!
Also remember HOODOO 500 is August 28-31st and we will be sharing their live updates and posts. Our friends at Queen City Wheels has their Gravel race in Shawnee State Forrest on the 30th (thats a maybe).

The awesome Columbiana County Fair is going on this week. All the great folks at the Fairgrounds Board are a huge reason why Coal Country Roubaix has a home here in Columbiana County, Ohio and gave us such a amazing venue. Come out and visit our Fair if you can and Joe Lawhorn has been volunteering the morning/afternoon shift driving the shuttle tractor. Come see the Fair and grab a ride from Joe.
