Here we go again 🤪 I’m not even close to recovered from a week of summer camp BUT it’s a great time to post a new one! ☀️

A bit shorter and one day less but the same amount of fun and craziness! Factoring in the heat of August, ending a bit earlier is in the best interest of everyone.

Today was shenanigans Friday. Because who does shenanigans better than a bunch of horse crazy kids? Nobody!

We began the day with relay race games. The kids were quite busy figuring out how to get on their horse with help from their teammate! One kiddo ended up on their horse backwards, I’m not sure how that happened!

Side note - they’re all incredibly competitive.

Cooling out meant riding double. Because again, shenanigans and chaos 😅

Then we had some visitors! 2 awesome donkeys named Rodeo and Roscoe popped by for a spring cleaning. The kids got to learn a valuable lesson that donkeys have their own agenda and destination 😂 all in good fun though.

Then finally, a color run. Nothing short of chaos, laughter and color powder EVERYWHERE! 🎨. A couple of our moms came to help and man oh man did they go after those kids 😂🥳. They got us back, though!

What a GREAT week. The kids learned a ton, got along and worked together and were such a well mannered bunch.

Tons of playing and games in the arena. I swear these kids never get tired 😅

And of course, painting ponies. Shorty being the only grey on the farm was the subject of today’s activities.

He was a GOOD sport about having 13 kids painting him and bedazzling his hooves and he looked great! 🎨

We know painting ponies can bring up some controversy. The paint used is safe, non-toxic and washable. Also, Shorty could survive an apocalypse. I’m pretty sure he can survive some paint 😉

Today was “show jumping with an eventer” where the campers got a one on one experience with the picture of resilience, Danielle Milhoan.

Discussions about counting strides, straight lines and rhythm were had and the kids got to watch 2 rounds of show jumping with a conversation afterwards of what to focus on while in the saddle.

Thank you Danielle for coming out and interacting with the campers and giving them inspiration! They were in awe and had lots of information to digest.

The day also included “limbo” which was pretty impressive and tiedye! I’d say today was a pretty action packed day!

Super educational day for the campers with Creek Valley Veterinary Services LLC .. they took a lot of time to explain things while also providing great care to our equines!

The things we covered today were
- X-rays 🩻
- Coggins 🩸
- Abscesses
- Heart rates and listening to their heart beat ♥️
- Uterine cultures 🐴
- Vaccines 💉

Thank you so much for taking the extra time to explain things and interact with the campers. They had a great morning!

⭐️ ATTENTION Camp participants ⭐️

What you need to send your child with for camp

🐴 WATER - We’re going to reach high 70’s/low 80’s. Please send your child with enough water 💧

🐴 LUNCH - Include snacks as well. For some reason during camp the children want approximately 82 snack breaks 😅

🐴 SUNSCREEN - The arena has zero shade and they will be spending the majority of the day outside. Plan accordingly! ☀️

🐴 CHANGE OF CLOTHES/SNEAKERS - These kids play HARD and nothing is worse than running around in paddock boots! 👟

FRIDAY June 5th - wear WHITE. 👚

AFTER CARE after camp is available until 4 pm. The after care is FREE. Yes, you read that right. Free. However, there will be age appropriate chores involved.

I’m so excited, and I know the kids are too! I’ll see you all on Monday! 🎉
