Wanted to give everyone some insight on what a session with us would be like.
Warmup/ injury prevention.
Players now a days just come right into a gym and start running and jumping without getting their bodies warm and muscles loose. So our first step is to prevent that as much as possible. Injuries will happen regardless, but if we get out in front of it. Hopefully we can minimize them.
Plyometrics
Plyometrics is a variety of different work outs based on jump training. We use it to get the maximum out of a players body in small intervals. Plyo is one of the best workouts to use for a player to increase their power in the lower half.
Handles
A good handle is something every player needs to break down the defense.
Finishing
Players needs to be able to finish thru contact and with either hand as well as being able to attack from different angles.
Boxing out
Boxing out goes all the way to when we started playing ball, use your wide base and drive your man out of the way. Seems players get away from that today and just wanna try and out jump someone. That only works if your BIGGER than them!
I know there are a few points in the game I didn't put on here, but they will not be missed in workouts.
All workouts are based on skill level, and geared toward making players weaknesses, their strengths.
