⚾🧡💙 BUILDING THE FUTURE OF SOUTHEASTERN BASEBALL! 💙🧡⚾

We're not just upgrading baseball fields. We're investing in the next generation of players, families, and memories!

The transformation at Southeastern Baseball Park in Veterans Park is underway, and we couldn't be more excited about what this investment means for our baseball community here in Lexington, Kentucky!

With the installation of turf on our Rookie and Minor fields and the replacement of turf on our Major field, we're taking a major step toward creating a facility that will serve generations to come.

⚾ WHY TURF? HERE'S WHAT THIS INVESTMENT MEANS!

✅ Fewer Weather-Related Delays: Improved drainage and more weather-resistant playing surfaces can help us get back on the field sooner after rain.

✅ Less Field Maintenance: Reduced mowing, watering, and traditional dirt and grass maintenance means more time and resources can be focused on our players and the park.

✅ More Consistent Playing Conditions: Durable, uniform surfaces help provide a more reliable experience for practices, games, and tournaments.

✅ More Opportunities for Tournaments: Upgraded fields will help position Southeastern to attract additional tournaments, bringing teams and families from across Kentucky and beyond to Lexington.

✅ A Long-Term Investment: These improvements are designed to support frequent use and help Southeastern continue growing for years to come.

🧡 BUT WITH BIG DREAMS COME BIG INVESTMENTS!

Projects of this magnitude come with significant financial responsibilities, and we are currently developing our Capital Campaign to help fund and pay off this investment.

Southeastern Baseball has been part of countless childhoods, friendships, and family traditions. Now, we're asking our community to help us build the next chapter.

Whether you're a local business, former player, parent, grandparent, or someone who believes in the importance of youth sports, we would love for you to be part of this journey!

🤝 WANT TO HELP BUILD THE FUTURE OF SOUTHEASTERN BASEBALL?

We are looking for individuals, businesses, and community partners interested in learning how they can support this project through our Capital Campaign.

⚾🚧 BIG CHANGES ARE HAPPENING AT SOUTHEASTERN BASEBALL PARK! 🧡💙

If you haven't heard the exciting news, Southeastern Baseball Park is undergoing a MAJOR transformation!

We are officially moving forward with installing turf on our Rookie and Minor fields and replacing the turf on our Major field! This is a tremendous investment in the future of Southeastern Baseball, our community, and the opportunities we hope to bring to our city and state.

For decades, Southeastern has been so much more than just a baseball park.

We've watched thousands of young athletes step onto our fields, learn the game, build confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime. But beyond baseball, we've built friendships, brought families together, and created a community that extends far beyond the fences.

The stories, photographs, accomplishments, and generations of families who have called Southeastern home are what make this park so special. 🧡

So, why are we making this investment?

Because we believe the next generation deserves something extraordinary!

These improvements will help us reduce field maintenance, create more consistent playing conditions, expand our opportunities to host tournaments, and provide our players with a beautiful facility they can proudly call home throughout their baseball journey.

We're not just upgrading baseball fields. We're investing in the future of Southeastern Baseball and the generations still to come. ⚾

🚜 CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY! We'll continue sharing progress photos, project updates, and exciting milestones as this transformation takes shape.

To every player, coach, volunteer, parent, grandparent, sponsor, and supporter who has been part of Southeastern's story, past, present, and future, THANK YOU!

You helped build the legacy we're so proud of today, and we cannot wait to show you what's next.

🧡💙 The future of Southeastern Baseball is looking brighter than ever!

Many of you already know about it, but we're thrilled to formally share that construction is underway to turf three fields at Veterans Park prior to our Spring season. Huge thanks to WKYT for covering the story 👇

Lexington has always been a premiere youth baseball town, and we will now have a premiere youth baseball complex that our community deserves.

Projects like this happen because a community decides to invest in its kids. Our capital campaign is nearing launch and sets out to raise the funds needed to retire the long term investment that our board knew our league and community couldn’t wait on. Look for more on the capital campaign in the weeks ahead!

A league official said they hope to have the turfing done by January or February of next year.

🚨⚾ IMPORTANT PARK NOTICE – PLEASE READ & SHARE! ⚾🚨

Southeastern Families, Friends & Community Members,

We have MAJOR construction projects underway at Southeastern this fall, and while we are excited about the improvements being made, we need everyone's help keeping our park safe and protected.

We have recently been made aware of individuals riding electric bikes, bicycles, and scooters on our baseball fields.

🚫 LET US BE CLEAR: BICYCLES, ELECTRIC BIKES, SCOOTERS, AND SIMILAR VEHICLES ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT PERMITTED ON OUR FIELDS!

This is NOT a new rule, but with contractors actively working onsite and significant financial investments being made to improve our facilities, we will be strictly enforcing this rule indefinitely.

The safety of our players, families, visitors, and contractors is our TOP PRIORITY!

We are asking all past and present Southeastern families, friends, and those living in or around Veterans Park to PLEASE SHARE THIS MESSAGE!

If you witness anyone riding bikes, scooters, or similar vehicles on our fields, please contact a Southeastern board member immediately.

These improvements are being made for our children and future generations of Southeastern baseball. We have worked too hard and invested too much to allow unnecessary damage or unsafe activity on our fields.

Thank you for helping us protect our park, our investment, and most importantly, our community! ⚾

It is with heavy hearts that the Southeastern Cal Ripken Baseball family shares the loss of one of our own, 6-year-old Neven Coofer.

Anyone who spent time at the fields knew Neven. His personality was infectious, and his smile, his energy, and his joy for life lifted everyone around him. You'd find him in the dugout, on the field, or playing in the bushes behind the Minor field, the spot he proudly named his "treehouse." Neven wasn't just a player in our league. He was everyone at Southeastern's little brother. Coaches, teammates, parents, and older players all looked out for him, and every one of us is better for having known him.

Neven leaves behind his loving parents, Dominik and Gordana, and his older brother, Niko. Our league is wrapping our arms around this family, and we're asking our community to do the same.

A GoFundMe has been set up to support the Coofer family during this unimaginable time. Please give if you're able, and share this post so it reaches as many people as possible:

Calling all Southeastern families, past and present!

We're working to recognize the Southeastern alumni who went on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels, in any sport, and we need your help.

If you know a former Southeastern player who went on to play in college or as a pro, please share:

1️⃣ Their name
2️⃣ The years they played at Southeastern
3️⃣ Where they played at the next level (college, professional level reached, or both)

Drop it in the comments. Tag them, tag their parents, tag their old teammates. The more names, the better!

Every one of these athletes started on our fields. Let's make sure their stories are part of Southeastern's history.

In just 24 hours, you sent us more than 1,000 photos. We are blown away.

We've spent the day scrolling through them, and it's been a reminder of what makes this league so special.

A response like this doesn't happen by accident. It's a reflection of the strength, the heart, and the goodwill of the Southeastern Baseball community. You didn't just send pictures; you showed us what this league means to your families. And that means the world to us.

Thank you for sharing your memories with us. We can't wait to show you what they're helping build. 👀⚾
