West Coast Sports Compacts 2026 – Points Update after Ventura Raceway (July 11)

What a season it’s been! After the latest stop at Ventura Raceway, here’s how the points battle is shaping up:

🏆 1st – #33 D. Cosens III – 916
🥈 2nd – K. Thompson – 826
🥉 3rd – #88 N. Thompson – 814
4th – #75 J. Durant – 714
5th – D. Myrick – 580

Cosens continues to lead the way with a solid 90-point cushion over K. Thompson, while N. Thompson sits just 12 points behind in the battle for 2nd. Durant holds a strong 4th, and Myrick rounds out the top five.
Still plenty of racing left and lots of points on the table. The fight for the championship (and those top-5 spots) is far from over!

If we want to continue having a place to race on, it starts with all of us. That means every driver, every team, every crew member, every family member, and everyone associated with our race teams.

Before taking frustrations to social media to criticize the track, officials, or other drivers and teams. Let us remember that we all represent something bigger than ourselves. We represent our sponsors, our fans, our families, and the WCSC class as a whole.

Let's show All the tracks we race at just how respectful, competitive, and professional our class can be. Race hard, race clean, and race with respect for one another. Have fun, be smart behind the wheel, and remember that not everything that happens on the track is within our control.

At the end of the night, every one of us wants to load our race cars in one piece and make it home safely. Let's work together to build a class that people are proud to be a part of and one that tracks are excited to have on their schedule.

Be smart. Be respectful. Support one another. Let's protect the future of the WCSC. Have a great Sunday

🏟️ What a night at Ventura Raceway! 🔥
The grandstands were absolutely PACKED tonight! Wall-to-wall fans filling every seat and lining the fences — you could feel the energy from the moment the gates opened!
Nothing beats a sold-out crowd cheering on every pass, every slide, and those huge roars for the checkered flags. The atmosphere was electric from hot laps all the way to the A Main!
Big thanks to every single fan who came out and made tonight unforgettable. This is what dirt track racing is all about! 👏❤️

🏆 Winner’s Interview Spotlight! 🔥
Just caught up with tonight’s A Main winner, Dennis Cosens III, the New Mexico Nightmare / High Side Hustler!
In his post-race interview, Dennis was pumped after charging past Gene Glover on lap 13 and leading the rest of the way to victory at Ventura Raceway. He mentioned that tonight he ran the preferred lane around the bottom perfectly, and the 33 car was hooked up all night long!
He gave big thanks to his team for the killer setup and shouted out the fans for the awesome atmosphere.
What a humble and deserving Winner! Congrats again Dennis on the big win! 👏💪

🏆 EPIC BATTLE at Ventura Raceway! 🔥🏁

The New Mexico Nightmare is at it again! Dennis Cosens III, the High Side Hustler, pulled off a massive move on lap 13, blasting past Gene Glover for the lead and never looked back! He powered away the rest of the way and stormed to a dominant victory in the A Main!

Hot laps are starting SOON on the beachside bullring! The WCSC crews are strapped in and ready to sling some serious dirt in these compact warriors. Expect tight battles, big slides, and wheel-to-wheel action from these affordable, high-energy racers. 
Whether you’re a longtime fan or catching your first dirt oval race, tonight’s going to be a blast. Come early, grab a spot in the grandstands with that ocean breeze, and watch these drivers chase glory under the lights.

• Pit gates & front gates opening soon
• Hot laps/qualifying kicking off around 4:00pm
• Full racing program starts ~5:30 PM

This Saturday we’re back! It’s our final event before we have a few weeks off for the 2026 Ventura County Fair! We’ll send it off with a bang with a Demo Derby, an increased purse for the Dwarf Cars, and plenty of other action with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, and the West Coast Sport Compacts!
