Breaking Ground for the Future of Our Community!

Today, we celebrated an exciting milestone as community leaders, donors, volunteers, staff and supporters gathered for the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA Groundbreaking Ceremony.

This expansion marks an exciting step forward as we continue working to create more opportunities for individuals and families throughout our community.

The project will include:

• Four new pickleball courts
• Two group exercise studios
• An outdoor playground adjacent to Kids Zone
• Additional improvements designed to strengthen programs, services and community impact

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us today and to the many supporters whose generosity and commitment continue to make projects like this possible.

Together, we are creating more opportunities for healthy living, youth development and community connection throughout our community.

The YMCA is a place where lives are changed, communities come together and opportunities are created for people of all ages.

From young children who can learn how to both swim and read to our seniors who can learn to participate in maintaining and improving their health, to everyone in between who enjoy weight training, fitness, aerobics and dance classes, swimming, playing sports and attending lectures and programs to improve themselves and the community at large, our Y and their amazing staff delivers!
The Y stands as a testimony to the fact that some dreams do come true and a challenge for all of us dreamers to reach higher and continue to grow.

June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month!

This month the Y is challenging YOU to prioritize your brain health. Here are a few tips to help you get started:
-challenge your mind with cognition-focused activities and games (puzzles, reading, card games)
-eat a brain-healthy diet (more leafy greens, less refined sugars)
-prioritize quality sleep (sleep clears out toxins from your brain)
-exercise regularly (go for walks, take a group exercise class, lift weights)
-socialize (spend time with friends and family)

Our lifeguards recently attended an association training session where they sharpened their lifesaving skills, practiced emergency response techniques, and worked together to prepare for the busy summer season ahead.

We are proud of their dedication to ongoing training and commitment to keeping our community safe in and around the water. Thank you to our team for continually striving for excellence and preparedness.
