VGA Nevada played another warm one today at Chimera Golf Club in Henderson. We teed off at 0700 and the temp was 85. But by the time we finished around 1130 we were at 105 and going up. Hydration was key for our 32 golfers. Summer is going to be warm one this year. On the hole 3 par 3 we had Wounded Warrior Project Hole in One contest that several members participated in. Unfortunately no Hole in Ones...but lots of donations to a worthy cause.

VGA Nevada had a big presence this year at the VGA West Region Senior Qualifier at The Club at Castlewood in Pleasanton, CA. Congratulations to Jaime Rodriguez, Roderick Golphin and Troy Orosco (who won a sudden-death playoff match for the final spot) in the Senior C flight to advance to Nationals. Thank you also to the The Club at Castlewood for hosting a great event.

It was a HOT one out there today (100 +) as we played at the famed Las Vegas National Golf Club....past home of the Rat Pack (Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr and Frank Sinatra to name a few). It has also been the home of past LPGA /PGA events and was where Tiger Woods won his first PGA tour victory. Lot's of history on the course and around it, as it is also surrounded by several homes where the top headliners and sport figures of the 50's and 60's lived.

What a great weekend of golf! Thanks for hosting us this weekend VGA Arizona. The Borders of the Battles at Laughlin Ranch Golf Club was great. Couldn't have ask for better weather or location as the golf course was in great shape. Eighty-eight golfers started out the two days of competition which had previously been won by Arizona two years in a row, but this year was different as VGA Nevada showed up to play and went away as the winners. Once thank you VGA Arizona and Laughlin Ranch Golf Club for an awesome weekend.
