5 moves the Cowboys should make before free agency

1) Re-sign key free agents
2) Cut Greg Zuerlein
- He was the worst extra point kicker in the NFL last season. He wasn’t much better at field goals. Stop the bleeding and find a new one. He also would add nearly $2.5 million in cap space.
3) Cut Keanu Neal
-moving him from safety to linebacker was not very successful. Designating him a post June 1 release would bring another $1 million in space.
4) Extend Anthony Brown and release Jourdan Lewis
- Brown would help ensure the improved performance of the cornerbacks continues. He also had three interceptions in the regular season and added another in the Wild Card game. The extension could net over $3.1 million in space, and moving on from Lewis gets another $2.3 million
5) Extend DeMarcus Lawrence and Amari Cooper
- The two of them, they could net a whopping $29.4 million in cap savings, according to Over the Cap. In terms of value to the team, they are probably among the top five or so players on the roster. While the recent grumblings from Jones are not at all encouraging, we can still cling to a faint hope that he is posturing to try and move in this direction. It is a slim reed to cling to, admittedly, but extending them would do much more to make the roster stronger than moving on in the name of the cap.

There’s the Rams and the Bengals squaring off for a ring and a ticker-tape parade, and there’s the handful of superstars elected to represent their conferences at the Pro Bowl this Sunday...

Left tackle Tyron Smith, honored with his 8th Pro Bowl nod, has announced he will not play due to injury.

The Cardinals’ D.J. Humphries will take Smith’s place.

WR CeeDee Lamb will join them as an alternate, filling in for Cooper Kupp, who will be preparing for Super Bowl LVI.

Quarterback Dak Prescott reportedly turned down the chance to play in his third Pro Bowl, in order to give himself a head-start on a full offseason of rest....

3 landing spots for WR Amari Cooper if Cowboys cut him

3)Cleveland Browns
2)The team with No name** Washington
1) Indianapolis Colts

The Cowboys’ chances for playing in Super Bowl LVI were cut short when there 49ers defeated Dallas 23–17 in the wild-card round. However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones likes the Rams’ chances of winning a Super Bowl this season.

The Dallas Cowboys are going to have to make some big decisions over the next month and one of the biggest surrounds wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The Cooper decision is a serious and pivotal one. And assorted reports aside, it is a decision that two NFL sources tell us has yet to be finalized.

Are there places Cooper can land? You bet. Pro Football Network mentions three, and we will highlight Washington, which wanted to sign him before Dallas re-upped him.

Tom Brady is retiring from the National Football League. 🏈

The Buccaneers might also be without offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich as he is rumored to become the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars (who Dallas will visit in 2022 by the way, whether that game is in Jacksonville or an international spot remains to be seen). The point is that the Buccaneers, who have been one of the top teams in the conference for two years now, are very likely going to take a massive step back this coming season.

This is A OPPORTUNITY for the Cowboys....
