So Cal Speed Events presents...
The Poway Rodeo Youth Barrel Race Qualifier, August 22, 2026
To be held in conjunction with the
So Cal Speed Events Speed -Fest Jackpot!
We are so excited to be able to produce this event! It is going to be so fun!
Thank you so much to the Poway Rodeo Committee for providing this opportunity for the youth barrel racers!
The results from the Youth 4/D Jackpot 8/22/26 will determine the qualifiers for the Poway PRCA/WPRA Rodeo - Youth Barrels.
The Top Six in each of the Divisions, as well as the bottom 6 of the Youth jackpot will qualify to run at the Rodeo. A total of 30 qualified contestants will have the opportunity to compete in the Jr Barrel Race at the Poway Rodeo.
Note that the committee will be given the full results of entries/placings for the Junior Barrel race and will have the opportunity to select alternates from that list as they wish.
At the end of the jackpot, if your are announced as a Qualifier and you would like to compete at the rodeo:
The entry form must be filled out and the $ 100 entry fee must be paid. Parent/Guardian will need to sign the forms.
The representative from the Poway Committee will be there to accept the paperwork, and photos of each contestant will be taken.
Contestants are encouraged to bring a hat/ western attire for their photos, although DRESS CODE is not required during competition.
This will be an afternoon/evening race so Youth will have an opportunity to run under the lights!

The Youth jackpot: Contestant can enter the Open and carry over to the Open, or just enter the youth jackpot.

* If you need to draw out, you must do so 24 prior to the event, or you will be responsible for your Fees
*** All Pre-Entries must be checked in and paid before you run
***All Pre-Entries must be checked in and paid by 5:00 PM, regardless of how late you are in the draw.
***Late Entries will be taken on site until 5:00 PM***
Youth Side Pot Ground Rule;
For any Youth competitor entered in the Youth Jackpot.
If you hit a Barrel, or go off course while making your Open run;
You will be allowed to run again at the completion of the Open Jackpot. (as a Youth Jackpot "run again"s)
You must inform the office staff that you would like to run again (or your parent/guardian can inform the office crew)
You must be ready to run immediately at the end of the Open jackpot during the Youth jackpot(Be at the gate , warmed up ready to go)
The Youth Riders that will run again (due to a NT in the OPEN) will be added to the bottom of the Youth Draw to make their second run
If you do run again, your time ONLY counts for the Youth side pot and does not carry back to the Open.
The spirit of this ground rule is to ensure that all children have the best experience possible! Thank you!
Awards and Winnings..
All Money and Prizes will be available to be picked up at the completion of the jackpot.
If you cannot be present, please designate someone to pick up for you.
Prizes will not be shipped.
Money will only be held for seven days, email to make arrangements, if not picked up 8/17/24.
