Meet Michael Lopez – President & Crew Chief, Texas Umpires
My name is Michael Lopez, President and Crew Chief of Texas Umpires. For more than 23 years, I have dedicated my time to the game of baseball and softball, coaching, mentoring, and developing young athletes throughout the great community of Laredo, Texas.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with numerous Little League organizations, helping players not only improve their skills on the field but also learn the values of teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. My passion for the game eventually led me to umpiring, where I proudly served as a USA Softball Umpire, gaining valuable experience and a deeper understanding of the sport from every angle.
Texas Umpires was founded on the belief that officials should be professional, knowledgeable, fair, and committed to the growth of the game. Our mission is to provide quality officiating while supporting the development of new and experienced umpires alike. We strive to create opportunities for officials to learn, grow, and succeed while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Baseball and softball have been a major part of my life, and I am proud to continue serving the athletes, coaches, leagues, and families who make these sports so special. I look forward to working alongside our outstanding team of umpires as we continue to serve Texas and our community and help make every game a positive experience.
