Congratulations to the high school soccer players, coaches, families and supporters across Greater Lansing!
Our Lansing School District teams and other Lansing schools gave us plenty to celebrate this fall, including outstanding regular-season success. For those whose postseason runs ended in districts, that doesn’t take away from their accomplishments or the pride they brought to their schools, especially to Eastern who inspired so many kids across the Lansing district to get into soccer. To every team that competed, congratulations on your season. To the district champions, congratulations and good luck representing our area!
A special congratulations to DeWitt on its district championship win over a strong Eastern team. DeWitt’s energy, desire and organization stood out. Watching was a learning moment for me as a coach. Those are standards we are committed to building in our players: prepared, organized and ready to give their best in every game and situation, whether it’s a scrimmage or a state final, or a classroom quiz.
RLFC would not be what it is today without the care and support of the DeWitt soccer community and so many others. They’ve donated balls, snacks, equipment and money to our mission, and without their support we wouldn’t be the success story we are today. Costel, DeWitt’s assistant coach, is one of three founding board members and one of our biggest donors. Jason, whose son captained the DeWitt soccer team and graduated last year, is our club administrator and vital to what we do. The club and I are grateful for these relationships and proud to celebrate their successes.
At RLFC, we respect and celebrate every school and player. We’re excited to work with high school players across the area, not just Lansing schools. Whatever school you attend, you are welcome to be part of RLFC. We have a distinct approach to the game and how it’s played, and everyone is welcome.
We have big things coming this year and are ready for another huge step forward for quality, affordable soccer in our community.
Our goal is simple: to be affordable and to be the best. This season, we’re putting that ambition into action.
