From 2–9 to one of the hottest teams in the country, this group refused to fold, battling through a flooded field twice, long road stretches, indoor practices when the weather said otherwise, and injuries that tested everything, and still found a way to go 32–13 the rest of the way while winning 16 of the last 18 to earn the #25 spot in the NJCAA national rankings, and now the opportunity is right here at Muni as we host a regional playoff series for the third time in five seasons starting Thursday at 1:00 PM against Henry Ford College in a best of three with a trip to the Super Regionals on the line.

The Stars closed out MCCAA conference play yesterday with a doubleheader sweep over Ancilla, winning game one 14-2 behind Ryan Louch’s five RBIs including a three-run homer, a strong outing from Josh Gardner, and multi-hit days from Jack Coluzzi, JT Youngblood, and Jake Norton while creating pressure with six stolen bases, then followed it up with an 18-0 win in game two as Parker Vaughn put together a dominant performance going 4-for-4 with six RBIs and a home run, Coluzzi matched him with four hits including a homer, the offense exploded for 11 runs in the first inning, and Matthew Whiteman set the tone on the mound with scoreless work while the bullpen of Wade Sommers and Tyler Young finished it clean, as the Stars piled up 29 hits on the day and finished conference play with momentum heading into playoffs. We head to Grand Rapids tomorrow to finish the regular season against the Raiders with a single 9-inning game, starting at 2:00 PM. Then on to Regionals!

The Stars handled business on the road again, sweeping a conference doubleheader at Ancilla yesterday with a 14-0 win in game one and a 16-6 win in game two, as Braden Slogor set the tone with six shutout innings in the opener while Griffin Devooght drove in three, Parker Vaughn and Jake Norton added multi-hit days, and Ryan Louch capped a big sixth with a two-run shot, then in game two the offense flipped the game in the third and never looked back with Vaughn going 4-for-4 with four RBIs, JT Youngblood leaving the yard, and the group showing discipline with 14 walks and pressure on the bases with seven steals, while Gavin Przybyla battled to earn the win and Christian Douglass shut it down late, as the Stars continue to respond through a demanding stretch of travel. We host Ancilla tomorrow at home for the final MCCAA games of the 2026 season. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM. On another note, since we weren't playing today, we were able to get our uncommon team pictures taken. This time, the location was the Lansing waterfalls. A very unknown spot, but they are incredible when running. Huge thanks to Kevin Fowler and team! Go Stars!

The Stars found a way on the road yesterday taking down the Muskegon Jayhawks 9-6 after a full team effort at the plate and on the mound, as Carson Sweet led the way with four RBIs including a three-run shot in the first to set the tone, Parker Vaughn and Jace Davis got us going early, and Sweet and Aidan Grzesikowski added on in the third, while Griffin Devooght gave us six strong innings to earn the win and Oliver Raczynski closed it out, with JTYoungblood and Davis each collecting three hits, Jake Norton adding two, and the group stacking 14 hits, seven walks, and clean defense, and a big thank you to Gov’s Training Academy for opening up their sweet indoor facility so we could get our work in before the game with the weather not allowing us on the field, as we now head to Plymouth, Indiana for a conference doubleheader against Ancilla. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM today.
