From a kid who didn’t throw hard to a 6th round pick by the Texas Rangers.

Sixth round. Texas Rangers. Aidan Brainard.

He didn’t get there overnight, and he’ll tell you that himself. Came in still figuring out how to use his own body, left throwing 6-7 mph harder and understanding his game in a way he never had before.

That’s the work. Trackman, video, the strength side, a program built around him specifically, not a one-size template.

Most pitchers in this situation never figure out why. They throw bullpen after bullpen. They chase velocity. They tinker with mechanics. Nothing moves because nobody looked at the right place.

Quad dominant pitchers don’t drive. They collapse. When the back leg collapses, the hips thrust forward before foot plant. The upper half tilts back to compensate. The arm slings across a body that’s already in the way.

That’s early extension. And it’s almost never an arm problem.

It starts in the cross section. Hip flexors, glutes, abs, lower back. When that area is weak or immobile, this is what it produces on the mound. Every time.

This pitcher was sitting 84. We addressed the load. We fixed the pattern.

He sat 92 to 93. Topped 95.

Same arm. Different foundation. Completely different pitcher.

Quad dominant guys can throw hard. It’s just rare. Now you know exactly why.
