To all of our hunters, past and present…
Many of you had the privilege of knowing Buck over the years. Whether he was your guide in the field or your buddy in the lodge, he left an impression on just about everyone he met.
Buck wasn’t just a hunting dog—he loved every part of hunting season. In the field, he gave everything he had and never quit until every bird was found. His drive, determination, and heart made him an incredible dog to hunt over.
If he wasn’t out guiding a hunt, you could usually find him in the lodge making the rounds, hoping someone would share a little cheese or salami. He never met a stranger, and he seemed to believe every hunter came to visit him just as much as they came to hunt birds.
This week, we unexpectedly lost Buck in a tragic accident. Our hearts are absolutely broken.
For many of you, Buck was part of your hunting memories here. He greeted you at the lodge door, rode along to the fields, celebrated successful retrieves, and probably convinced more than a few of you to share your lunch. He loved every minute of it.
Thank you to everyone who ever scratched his ears, threw him a bird, shared a snack, or simply loved on him during your visits. We know so many of you cared about him, and we wanted you to know that our favorite hunting partner has crossed his final field.
The lodge and the fields won’t be the same without him.
Run hard, Buck. We know Heaven has endless fields, strong flying birds, and plenty of hunters waiting to tell you, “Good boy.”
You’ll always be part of our hunting family, and you’ll never be forgotten.
