Recap from the Dixie Shootout Series race #4 in Huntsville, Alabama.
Sr Honda—
B-Main: P6➡️🅿️7️⃣missed transfer.
Okay run, but got caught up in the middle of the pack and wasn’t able to race it forward.
LT 160—
C-Main: P6➡️🅿️5️⃣X-car transfer.
B-Main: PX➡️DNS
After snapping a rear axle on the start of the heat, Bullet Motorsports QM Team helped us get it put back together for the C-Main in under 45 minutes. The car was good enough, but some racing deals had us fighting an uphill battle.
Sr Animal—
A-Main: P6➡️🅿️8️⃣
Parked it from the Heat, but got stuck on the outside on the start and had to get in line falling to P8. Raced it forward, but hard fighting for track position found us fighting from the tail. Able to outlast the charge, but a fairly balanced field finished as it laid.
Progress…6 months ago, making A-Mains seemed so far away. But, honestly, G$ is beginning to be in the conversation every weekend. He has a good piece, is cleaning up mistakes, and continues to work on the finer points of race craft. Sometimes, he nails it…and sometimes he’s 9 yrs old ripping around ovals with the best in the sport. He’s learning from a class field, that understands the process. We’ll keep pushing him out, and he is eager for his time to come.
We’ll enjoy some down time in the coming weeks, and re-charge for the final push in the NASCAR Youth Series, Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series, and the Dixie Shootout Series.
