Race #6 last night, and the 3rd race for Seger at Miami county raceway.

Started 6th in the heat race, and ended up gaining 2 positions by the end ,due to not so great circumstances for friend Kaesyn Jarvis catching an infield tire and flipping , and then passing Easton etherington on the final lap for a 4th place finish, locking us into the A main.

Seger would start 9th in the A main, only to be caught up in a mess in front of him, only a couple few laps into the race, climbing up the left side of lane white, stopping the progress, and bending the front axle pretty good, out of no fault of his own. Stuff happens , and this is a perfect example of it. Nothing that any of them could do to avoid it.

After the race and talking to our driver, he conveyed that the car got MUCH better AFTER the crash.... meaning I simply had the car too tight!!!

The track was a bit tricky to read last night again, as it had some slick spots , but also had grip in alot of places.

After the crash seger had to go to the back of course, but fought, and stayed clean the rest of the race and ended up 10th!

We will catch another good break at some point, and we have to wonder where we would have finished had we not got caught up in that crash, since all the other incidents in the race, we missed, and all were involving cars in front of us.

A top 5 would be a reasonable guess, but it just didn't happen this time.

Not a bad night, somewhat in one peice yet for tonights race at U.S. 24!

Now the race is on, with maybe 6 hours sleep total in the past 48 hours, I bet we sleep in tomorrow, but who needs sleep anyway!

Time to get this thing shined up, tuned up, and repaired for tonight, for the Carol Smith Memorial at U.S. 24!

Spent some time at the doctor today..... as we had a bit of a fueling issue after the last race, but nothing Brad Coleman...and Tim Engler couldn't line out !!!

Can't thank these guys enough for what they do and provide for this Budget team!

Thanks to shocktography.com. for taking pictures at U.S. 24 speedway!!!

A bit of a tumultuous evening last Saturday, but all in all , we cant complain too much. Tried to rip the top in the heat race an lost a spot, putting us in the B main, where we turned the fastest lap of the race, then started 12th i beleive in the A main... when Seger saw a skirmish on the start ahead of him and lost a few spots being cautious, but fought back up to 12th before being spun out off turn 2, after passing 4 cars in just a few laps charging forward... what are you to do , but keep going, realizing not everyone is taught the same drivers etiquette , same story for the past 4 years with that one, but seger took notice. The last time something like this happend, it didn't end well for the other kid, and we won the Indiana State series quarter midget JR honda Championship, so I guess we will just wait and see what happens! We can sleep at night knowing Seger is a respectable driver and takes care of his and others equipment as best as he can while being cautiously aggressive. That will go farther than $ at some point .

On to the next one!

It'll buff out..... round 2....dont think this one will buff out either, but i gotta try i suppose........but another solid top 10 finish
nonetheless.... 20 restricted cars last night at miami county.....maybe i can update the past couple weekends in detail tomorrow....

What day do you work on your racecar before the next race??

If you want to be successful, it's every day, that ends in the word DaY.

Maintaining a racecar is a full time job in itself, and the ones up front already know that!

We had an awesome 2nd week in the Micro, and ill be updating the page once I can sit down and process it all after cleaning everything up!

Ehhh.....that'll Buff out! No big deal.... just a peice of aluminum!

2nd track (Peru) , 2nd race night out for 2026 , 2nd race of the evening (A main), onto the 2nd Nose wing of the year for tonight , the 2nd race at U.S. 24 speedway for us.....

Seger had a good, Fairly clean night of racing for his 1st time at Miami county, with a couple things to work on.

We started 9th in the A main after following a car with an ill running engine towards the end of the heat race, for a just a little bit too long....otherwise it was a good heat race for him getting his feet wet , at only the 2nd track he's raced a micro at to date.

He settled in for the long haul fairly quickly in the A main, until a red flag stopped the field on lap 7.

As the cars refired, there were a couple cars who needed a bit of help refiring......unfortunately Seger was the odd man out and couldn't get it to refire.....and even though he wasn't the cause of the caution, for some reason had to go to the back, for the restart, after needing help to get going again...

Learning , we still are, and he took it in stride and moved on, restarting last in a now shortened field of cars.

Sometimes when you have to go to the back, it's quite possible you put yourself in harms way with alot more cars in front of you , and that proved to be factual last night , as when the next caution came, Seger was on the tail of another car that slowed very quickly, making contact unavoidable, and Seger jumped his left rear , catapulted over the left side of his car, bringing a bit of damage to the nose of his car for the remainder of the event.

No big deal, as it didn't get any worse than that, and we rolled it in the trailer again, which is still a big positive, for this budget team , looking to get laps, experience, gain speed , and respect every night, on our way to being more and more comfortable and competitive each night out!

After the red flag he would have restarted 7th, which would have been great , to try and fight towards a top 5 result, but it wasn't meant to be I suppose!

In the end, Seger was credited with an 11th place finish, which didn't quite describe how competitive he was in both the heat race and A main.

There were a couple good passes on the high side, and even A 3 wide pass on the high side at one point in the night for Seger, which showed an expanding comfort level that every driver needs in order to fight towards the front!

On to U.S. 24 we go tonight!

It's about the journey, and it's not an easy one, for anyone, but Seger did his best, and for his 1st race In a bigger BEAST of a racecar, and we couldnt be much happier than we were, when we left U.S. 24 speedway Saturday night.

Close to a 2 season long journey to be able to get him into a good car, with the best of equipment possible , in every aspect , is still , and was very taxing on everyone in the family, but we all feel like Seger did us ALL justice Saturday night !

We had a very modest set of goals, for our first time out ,and just about satisfied every single one of them, after being sidelined, and forced to just watch for literally half of the 2026 season.

That may have been a blessing in disguise, as bad as it sounds, after suffering through breaking both bones in his left forearm, keeping us from a much anticipated move up in class to restricted micro sprints in the spring of 2026.

Though it was excruciating to wait it out, it was apparent fairly quickly , that it was for the best, anyway, as it allowed us extra time to coordinate spare parts , and give Seger a chance to see what his competitors had to offer on track, and what to watch out for, when he was able to climb in and show what he's got, against some of the best upcoming, and rookie drivers in the Midwest .

It also gave every other new restricted class driver time to get their feet wet ,and I'm honestly glad we got to watch it all, instead of possibly replacing tons of parts on our end while we , and everyone else learned how to navigate the new, bigger, more powerful cars.

Now, we may be behind the 8 ball a little bit, but as I have explained to Seger since day one......now, you have a class of car that you can run until your 60+ years old ,even if no other opportunities arise in the future!

So why are we supposed to be in a huge hurry? We dont have millions, but we have alot of highly educated , racing centered people behind us in racing, and that's worth more than $$ most days!

Not discounting those who have tons of backing , and 4 of every part, and or several cars at their disposal, but as I have said time and again, once you are on track, in the arena, that s**t don't matter, if you are in close to equal equipment! Then it's up to driver and the setup man, and we feel like we can hang with that!

When Seger took to the track Saturday, for hot laps , that was the first time he's been in a 600, on a prepared track, as all 3 of the other times were practice days, with conditions that greatly differed from race night, so it was a crap shoot of sorts, mixed with some experience on my part, of helping others for the past 25 years, so I figured we would be close, and let him do his thing and learn, and that's how it played out!

After hot laps i think we were about mid pack (15th or so), in a field of 26 cars by lap times, which was respectable, being so late to the party.

After the draw we were to start inside, on the back row of our heat race, which was perfect in all aspects, for our situation. We wouldn't be in the the
way, but had alot to possibly gain also.

At the start of the heat race, Seger followed Noah Clark to the top side of turn 1.... which allowed Brent cremering by on the low side into turn 1, putting Seger at the back coming out of turn 2, where he stayed, close by until the field entered turn 3 on lap 3, when Blake Fishman(nickname squirrell), lost the handle,spun, and collected another former quarter midget classmate, in the form of kynslee boles, And her concept chassis.

Seger acted accordingly, and moved a lane higher, just in time to miss the chaos, and avoided stoppage, gaining those 2 spots for the restart, and any damage that may have came, if he would have stayed in the bottom lane!

On the restart, Seger stayed close by the transfer spot (Brent cremering) for the next few laps, as he needed to do to, in order to try to make a move for the 4th and final transfer spot to the A main at the end, but entering turn 2 on the final lap, he made ever so slight contact with his left rear , and spun the car in the middle of turns one and two, putting him to the back, and to the B main.

All in all, proud of his cautious , yet ,aggressive performance in the heat race!

That's a good start to the update from Saturday night! I'll see if I can find a B main video, but enjoy the heat race for now!

Real proud of our night, no matter that it wasn't a highly dramatic, positive result. For our little frugal team, it meant alot.
