Finished 5th last night at Woodhull on 3 shocks. Every restart the leader brake checked the entire field. Lap 3,5,15,22 he would start to fire and then shut his car down, and take off again. We have to replace the RF shock tower and LR axle tube. I don’t believe i’ll be able to get parts in time in order to fix my car for Tuesdays race at Woodhull. REALLY disappointed in the lack of officiating last night, they left the leader up front and just let everyone get their equipment destroyed. After the first few starts i learned to take off later to anticipate the brake check. But still a complete bummer. Brake checking isn’t cool. The damage occurred on lap 3 and we drove 22 laps like this.

Last Weekend At Afton Update : Dad started last and was able to drive up to a very respectable 8th place finish in the feature. We made small gains with the car and feel we still have a lot of improving left to do. Things are definitely trending in the right direction for him. I have been free/loose with my own car at Afton almost all year until last week. We finally got over the mountain and had the car a little too tight. I was battling for 4th when the field caught a very slow lap car, i got pinned behind him and couldn’t get around him until a handful of cars went by both of us, finishing a very disappointing 8th

With that being said Ive really enjoyed the last month of being able to race two nights a week. I feel like i need to be in the seat as much as possible. So with Afton Motorsports Park raining out for tonight. I will make my first start of the season at Woodhull Raceway tonight. We are at the shop getting the car prepped for the High Banks!!

Raceday at Penn Can Speedway in a different number than we’re used to. We are very grateful for this opportunity. Sometimes things come full circle, my shop teacher from 7th grade approached me a couple weeks ago to team him up with him on Friday Nights. We’ve spent the last 10 days getting the car assembled properly, and the bugs worked out of it. We will be in our familiar red #9 tomorrow at Afton Motorsports Park. Stop by the horse track tomorrow, as it is Fan Appreciation night. Really cool to have someone like this approach, and ask me to drive their equipment.

Today is Race Day at Afton Motorsports Park! Practice starts at 5:45, Heat Races begin at 6:30. If you can’t attend in person, there is live streaming available The Cushion. The track conditions were excellent last week, and i’m sure it’ll be the same for tonight. Sportsman have twin 15 lap features, while the modifieds have a traditional 30 Lap event. Hope to see you there.

Sometimes i take for granted how lucky i am to be able to enjoy this sport with my dad, but luckily pictures help put things into perspective. Hopefully I can make him proud with a couple of good runs tonight. Things haven’t gone well at all for him this season, and we are really hoping to turn it around tonight. We never give up when things get difficult that is for sure!! Thank you to all of our marketing partners who allow us to do this.

Race Day at the Afton Motorsports Park for KT and I.

🚨 I will have my car on display tonight in front of the grandstand area prior to tonight’s Racing activities. I will have T-Shirts for sale and Candy available. Dad would be joining me with his car on display, but he is chasing some electrical/fuel issues, we have changed/checked all grounds, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pick up, distributor, coil, carburetor. We have done all we can to hopefully resolve these issues. And currently working very hard in the shop to hopefully overcome this. Support your local race tracks and hopefully we will see you later!

We kicked off our first race of the year, at Afton Motorsports Park. I Started 5th in the heat, finished 2nd running down the leader. I was in 3rd with 5 laps to go in the feature when contact from the 4th place car unfortunately gave me a LR flat resulting in a 16th place finish. 👎🏻

KT started the night off a little too tight, finished 6th in his heat race. We made some adjustments for the feature, and unfortunately they weren’t enough as he was still a little too tight on corner entry which didn’t allow him to be as aggressive as needed. Still finished a respectable 13th. We will work on that and be better for next week.

Side Note - It’s always nice to be able to help people out. Last night we were able to help two of my close friends out at the track with some parts. Brad Weaver blew up his modified, so i let him take my sportsman out to get his green money, Mikey Nagel needed a yoke for his drive shaft so i was able to give him my spare so he could run the feature as well.

Thanks to our guys at the shop that help us get to the track, and all of our marketing partners who are along side, and support us every week. We appreciate you all. Special thanks to Michael with Fastline, i’ve been messing around with shock and spring combinations and Mike is always there to answer any questions and gets the shocks sent back to me immediately. He’s been doing my shocks for the last 8 years and is a huge asset to us.
