Another great way to start wrapping up the season with two great races one at Pico and one at Killington.
At Pico Mountain on B Slope, we hosted the Karl Acker Slalom. With a small field, great conditions, and high spirits, it made for an awesome race day. Cayden Brown took the gold, finishing 1st overall. Congratulations, Cayden! Hayden Luck set the pace early with the fastest first run. Thank you to all coaches from different mountains that helped us clean up the venue and take down our B net. Thank you to all our volunteers who kept the course well kept and the race running smoothly. Well done all racers.
A special moment during awards as Karl Acker’s son, Karl T Acker, joined us to hand out medals and speak about what this race means to him, his family, and Pico Mountain. It was a meaningful reminder of the history behind this race and the strong community that surrounds our mountain. Thank you, Karl, for continuing to support our athletes and program.
Over at Killington, the 2026 Memorial Race saw Ewan Kelson take 3rd place for the U14s. For the girls U12s Marie Fowler came in 2nd and Georgia Underwood came in 3rd, way to take over the podium! For the U10 boys Connor Panasci came in 2nd and for the U10 girls Zoe Karr came in 2nd. Nice job Zoe and Con! Each athlete had four runs with the first two counting toward their final placement, it was a busy and fun day. Well done Pico.
Great work all around, it will be a weekend to remember.
