Earlier this spring, we shared our vision for bringing lift-serviced access back to the Outpost area. Now, we’re excited to say it’s happening✅

This summer, work begins on a new rope tow that will restore access to the full Outpost area for the 2026-27 winter season. The new lift will run from the intersection of Prospector and That A Way to the top of That A Way and Bronco, bringing skiers and riders back to the legendary terrain once served by the Outpost Double.

And that’s just the beginning👀

Permitting and lift procurement are underway for a new chairlift in the footprint of the former Outpost Double, with a target opening for the 2027-28 winter season in time to help celebrate Pico Mountain’s 90th anniversary. Details on the lift’s capacity and manufacturer will be announced at a later date.

These investments reflect our continued commitment under independent ownership to preserve what makes Pico special while thoughtfully building for the future. It’s all about keeping the Pico experience strong for the families, locals, and loyal skiers and riders who love this mountain.

Congratulations to Harry "Rebel" Ryan on his induction into the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum Hall of Fame last weekend.

A true Pico legend whose legacy is deeply woven into the history of Pico Mountain, Rebel made his mark on the sport as a member of the 1968 U.S. Olympic Alpine Ski Team and by competing in some of the world's most prestigious races, including the Hahnenkamm and Lauberhorn.

Closer to home, he helped shape generations of Vermont skiers as co-founder of the Pico Ski Education Foundation.

Thank you, Harry, for your lasting contributions to Pico, ski racing, and winter sports in Vermont.

With our neighbor Killington Resort officially closed for the season after a great year, it feels like the perfect time to pause and appreciate just how special this winter was here at Pico.

From opening day on December 12, 2025, to last chair on April 5, 2026, this community had us smiling ear to ear, with so many memories made along the way.

Now, the countdown begins 'til next winter. We can’t wait to celebrate everything that makes this place feel like home❄️🎉

Throwback Thursday, all the way back to the mid 60s.

A lot has changed since this brochure was printed. But at its core, Pico hasn’t.

It’s still a place where families gather, traditions take shape, and every visit feels like coming home.

How long have you been calling Pico home?

Winter really said “one more for the road” ❄️

We may be closed for the season, but a fresh coat on Pico has us missing those turns already.

Who else is counting down to next season?

With the 2025/26 season now behind us, we’re taking a moment to celebrate an influential member of our team and community, Jim L.

After an incredible career in the ski industry, Jim, our Pico Fitness Center and Pico Tickets Coordinator, has officially retired.

Jim’s journey began in 1983 at Stratton, followed by years at Sunday River before finding his way back to Pico, where he grew up skiing with his family. As Jim put it, “People who like Pico, love Pico.”

Jim is looking forward to continuing to uphill as much as possible, just as he regularly did on the slopes of Pico.

We’re also excited to share that Chris H. will be stepping into the role of Pico Fitness Center Manager as Jim moves on to his next chapter.

Congratulations to Jim on a successful career. We wish him nothing but the best in retirement!
