Check out the latest update from Frank Conrick, our Director of Agronomy:
Shoal Creek’s maintenance staff has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming Summer season. Golf has been extremely busy, leading to increased wear and tear on the course. Most notably, green and tee complexes. We attempt to alleviate these stresses by implementing a variety of cultural practices, which include aerification, verticutting, and topdressing. Aerifying helps relieve soil compaction while improving water infiltration and enhancing oxygen exchange within the root zone. The tees at Shoal Creek have not been aerified for several years. We should see good results leading into the stresses endured through a normal Summer here in Kansas City!
