The countdown is on for the 2026 Kankakee Valley Open Compete USA Competition on Sunday, October 11 at Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena!

Skaters can compete in a variety of events, including programs with music, Excel and Championship Free Skate, Adult events, Athletic Development events and Hockey 1โ€“4.

All skaters will also receive event photography from KrPhotogs Photography LLC.

Please note: Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena will be closed September 4โ€“7 for the River Valley Regatta and Labor Day.

Could hockey be your kidโ€™s new favorite sport? ๐Ÿ’ Thereโ€™s only one way to find out! Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena is hosting Try Hockey for Free on Saturday, October 3, giving kids ages 4โ€“10 the chance to get on the ice, learn the basics and experience hockey in a fun, no-pressure setting.

And yes... itโ€™s completely FREE! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Participants will also receive some pretty awesome extras, including a hockey stick, street hockey ball, free skate rental and an exclusive Chicago Blackhawks ticket offer for the 2026โ€“27 season. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ’

Learn to Skate USA classes at Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena is a great option for young kids who love to move, try new things and have fun! Along the way, skating helps little ones develop balance, coordination, body control and confidence while keeping them active and learning a brand-new skill.

Rainbo Sports will be at the arena on Tuesday, September 15 from 3:00โ€“7:00 pm offering figure skate sharpenings. Theyโ€™ll also have skating accessories, tights, bags and more available for purchase while theyโ€™re here!

Join us on Sunday, October 11 at Ice Valley Centre Ice Arena for a great day of competition, cheering on friends and celebrating all the hard work happening on the ice.
