Here's what Tracy Kienitz sees in almost every first-year competitive woman who comes back for year two:
She got her gun fitted. Her scores went up. Then they stopped.
Because fit is one of four pillars, not the whole answer. Vision, fit, equipment, mindset. All four working together is what gets a woman shooting consistently at the registered level. Skip one and the other three can only take you so far.
The mindset piece is the one most women skip. Not because they don't care, but because nobody told them it was trainable. The ability to stay focused after a miss, trust your mount on the next target, and manage competition pressure without letting it change your mechanics are skills, not personality traits.
Women who work on them see real results. Women who don't leave points on the table no matter how well their gun fits.
The ATA target year closes August 31. The new year opens September 1. The new blog post breaks down everything Tracy sees in first-year competitive women and exactly what to do differently before the new year starts.
