If you’ve been wanting a scooter but can’t justify new scooter prices, this is for you!

We’ve got a few scooters on the bench right now that we’re rebuilding with upgraded battery systems, new seals, and a full tear-down and inspection.

Once they’re back together, we’ll be putting time on them in the water before they go to anyone.
We’ll share updates as they come along these should turn into some really solid scooters!

If your DPV isn’t running like it used to, we can fix that.

We’ve been working on some new battery setups lately. Trying to get better performance and actually see what these things are doing under load.

When we’re not working on DPVs, we’re out diving and using the same gear we service.

If we wouldn’t trust it ourselves, we won’t hand it back to you.

Your DPV still runs… but do you actually know what it’ll do under load?

Performance doesn’t always stay the same over time.

Runtime can shorten. Thrust can drop off earlier than expected. And unless you’ve actually tested it, it’s easy to assume everything is still where it used to be.

We put together a breakdown of what to look for and why a simple burn test can tell you more than you think.

Your DPV might still run, but that doesn’t mean it’s performing the way it should. Battery degradation, storage habits, and overlooked maintenance can all impact runtime and reliability. Here’s how to know what you actually have before your next dive.

Ever had a dive where nothing was really wrong… but nothing felt right either?

Gear was working. Conditions were fine.

But you felt off. A little rushed. Breathing harder than normal. Just not settled in.

Most people push through that.

We’ve done it too.

The reality is, a lot of dives don’t go sideways because of one big problem. It’s usually a chain of small things that started long before you ever hit the water.

Here's a short piece on this and when it actually makes sense to call a dive.

It’s the night before a dive, and you’re putting your gear together like you’re about to go to Disney World for the first time. Everything’s laid out, you’re excited, and you’re ready to go.At least, that’s how it’s supposed to feel. But the dive didn’t really start here.It started...

One of the owners of Precision Depth Diving made the same mistake… twice.

The first time, he just didn’t know any better.

The second time? He was rushing to get back in the water and thought he had it all figured out. Both times, it led to gear that technically “worked”… but made diving harder than it needed to be.

Uncomfortable dives. Poor trim. Just not enjoying it the way it should feel.

It took stepping back, asking questions, and rethinking everything to finally get it right.

We see this happen more often than you’d think, especially with new divers or people getting back into diving after time away.

If that’s you, this is worth a read.

He put together a short article breaking it down

We’ve officially joined the SDI family as a training facility!

We’re getting close to launching scuba training here in Jacksonville, and we’re building a short list of people who want to be first in line when everything goes live.

If getting certified has been on your radar, this is the easiest way to make sure you don’t miss it.

We’re keeping things small and intentional from the start, no big class churn, just solid training done right.

Check the comments to save your spot!

When we open enrollment, that list gets first notice and priority scheduling.

Precision Depth Diving is an SDI Training Facility, following internationally recognized standards for scuba education. As a disabled veteran-owned business, our goal is simple: help you feel comfortable, confident, and in control in the water from your very first dive.

Have a wobble on your DPV? Hit us up!

03/19/2026

Noticing a wobble in your DPV? That’s not something to ignore.

Wobble can come from a few different places, some simple, some more serious:

• Worn or damaged prop assemblies
• Bent or unbalanced props
• Worn shaft seals or bushings
• Failing or misaligned bearings
• Debris or line caught in the tail
• Or in worst cases, a bent motor shaft

Sometimes it’s an easy fix. Other times, it’s a sign of a bigger issue that can lead to more expensive damage if you keep running it.

If your scooter isn’t running smooth, it’s worth getting ahead of it.

At Precision Depth Diving, we can help diagnose the issue and get you back in the water with confidence.

Moisture trapped inside a sealed DPV can lead to internal corrosion over time. One of the simplest ways to protect your gear after a dive is to open it up, let it air out, and avoid storing residual moisture inside the hull.

A little post-dive care can prevent bigger problems later.

We received our first customer, Kevin Marks with Yippee Expeditions, who asked for assistance with a scooter losing thrust underwater. A swift diagnosis was made, and we are confident the scooter will be functioning properly soon. Kevin Marks
