Happy Thursday! • For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13‭-‬14 NASB1995 📖

Apostle Paul's letter (with Timothy present) to the saints and faithful brethren at Colossae while in prison. Paul is giving a prayer of Thankgiving. [Verses 3 thru 14] Is prayer is that they will be fill with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom understanding that the Holy Spirit gives. [v.9]

Verse 13: Let's bring in verse 21. 👉 And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— Colossians 1:21‭-‬22 NASB 1995

Before we accepted the gift of God which is eternal life in Christ. We were His enemies. Controlled by Satan. We were slaves to sin. Bound for eternal death.

Christ bought us out of the slave market. How? He was made an atonement (sacrifice) for our sins. Redemption is releasing the slave by paying the price. We are free from eternal death when we hear the gospel and agree with God that we are sinners and that we need a Savoir. Christ died for our sins and God was pleased with His sacrifice. I am redeem! Brought with a price!

Forgiveness of sins - the Greek meaning is "sending away." Our sins and guilt are sent away because of what Christ did on the cross for mankind.

Delivered us from the power of darkness - "Darkness is here personified, and is represented as having exousia, power, authority, and sway; all Jews and Gentiles, which had not embraced the Gospel, being under this authority and power. And the apostle intimates here that nothing less than the power of God can redeem a man from this darkness, or prince of darkness, who, by means of sin and unbelief, keeps men in ignorance, vice, and misery." - Adam Clarke

Happy Wednesday! - ‭Ephesians 6:18 NASB1995‬ [18] With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, 📖

Apostle Paul's letter to the church at Ephesus while in prison. In the previous verses. Paul dresses the saints for spiritual warfare as Roman Soldier would dress and prepare for battle.

In all the equipment that the saints need. The most important thing above all is prayer. Prayer is communicating to our Heavenly Father. Prayer and studying His word gives us the direction we need in our daily lives.

Praying always with all kinds of prayers and supplication in the Spirit - Praying individually, group prayer, praying in private, in public, walking prayer, shouting prayer, lifting up your hands to heaven and praying. Constant and fervent prayer. Pray honest, respectful and sincere prayer. Remember, you're praying to a Holy God. Just pray! - (D. Guzik)

Supplication in the Spirit - making request to God in prayer on behalf of yourself and other saints in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit is not being carried away by your emotions, but prayer that recognized the person, the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. That is the only way your prayer can be effective.

Look at this prayer request Paul made in Romans.. Let's us not forget to pray for others. 👇
