Ithaca Ballet

Ithaca Ballet The Ithaca Ballet, founded in 1961, is upstate New York's only repertory company, and the resident ballet company at the State Theatre.

The ballet is a pre-professional ensemble corps, having a varied repertoire of classical and contemporary works. The Ithaca Ballet, under the direction of Cindy Reid, is celebrating its 50th anniversary! The quality of instruction and performance experience provided by the ballet is of a caliber that alumni of the Ithaca Ballet have gone on to professional careers as professional dancers in promin

ent companies around the world, including American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey, the Joffrey Ballet, the Miami City Ballet, Merce Cunningham Company, and the San Francisco Ballet. We perform four productions a year in the State Theatre in downtown Ithaca, and tour the Finger Lakes region. Our performances include dancers from our resident company, advanced guest students from the Ballet Center of Ithaca, and guest artists from around the United States.

We are excited to announce the Ithaca Ballet’s 2026/2027 Season to our ballet family!
All performances, unless otherwise
noted, will take place in Ithaca’s historic State Theatre.
Our season will start in October, with two performances of
Fall Dance Revelry for All Ages, which will include
The Mother Goose Suite, Lost Memory, and Brush on Silk.
Performances will be on October 17 at 7:30 PM, and on October 18 at 3:00 PM.

The Nutcracker returns to the Smith Opera House in Geneva
on November 29 at 3:00 PM. Performances in Ithaca will be
held on December 11 at 7:30 PM, December 12 at 3:00 PM,
and December 13 at 3:00 PM.

WinterDance will take place on February 13 at 7:30 PM.

And finally, our season will conclude with two performances
of the spectacular Swan Lake, on April 17 at 7:30 PM, and April 18 at 3:00 PM.
