Behind the scenes of restoring Florida’s Coral Reef 🪸

Our staff at Sea Base spend countless hours working in the coral nursery to help restore and protect the underwater world of the Florida Keys. Through hands-on learning and real-world restoration efforts, Scouts get the opportunity to help care for and outplant corals while learning about marine ecosystems and ocean stewardship firsthand.

From tiny fragments to thriving reefs, every coral grown is a step toward a healthier ocean.

This week and all summer, we are celebrating 25 years of adventure at our Brinton Environmental Center. Things may look very different from the day its doors opened in 2001, but the lessons our programs teach remain the same. Resilience, service, leadership, and FUN. Whether our crews stargaze beneath the Milky Way, spot our 2 resident key deer, reel in their snapper and mahi, or swim down among the corals -- they're experiencing a life changing week in one of the most amazing environments in the world.
