It was a huge weekend for the stable! Three tracks, three stakes wins. At Keeneland, BOTTAS took the G2 Bryan Station under Tyler Gaffalione, making it his third stakes victory in a row and our first Keeneland win. Congratulations, Dahman Case Clay Thoroughbred Management! At Belmont, SENBEI picked up another stakes win at the age of 7, taking the NY Turf Sprint Championship with Flavien Prat. Congratulations to Dean Reeves and the Bilinskis! Finally, at Woodbine, CIUNAS made his first start for the stable a winning one under Pietro Moran. Congratulations to his new owners Steven Bouchey, Madaket Stables Sol Kumin, and Briles Family Stable! 🏆🏆🏆

TIA MELANIE was much the best in her second start! Named for Melanie Waitzer Agahigian, and the future is bright for this filly! Great ride by Samuel Marin. Congratulations to Briles Family Stable and the Estate of Brereton Jones! 🏆

STAND THE RAIN got the victory at Belmont this weekend with a rail-skimming ride from Manuel Franco 🏇🏼. Congratulations Steven Rocco LJSS Thoroughbreds! 🏆

It was a two-win Friday for the team! First time starter PRINCESS AMARI delivered under Samuel Marin for Donarra Thoroughbreds, Ken & Gail Beitz, and the Estate of Brereton Jones Airdrie Stud. She was exciting! In the nightcap, LUCKBEOURLADY came flying to get her nose down in time for Adelphi Racing Club, Jay Stasi and Randy Stasi, and Team Freehold Racing. We’re thrilled for jockey Gonzalez Cesar, who works a lot of horses for the stable, to get his first win at NYRA with a beautiful ride!

MOONLIT loved the Belmont stretch and rallied to break her maiden under Samuel Marin. Congratulations to LJSS Thoroughbreds Steven Rocco, Tango Uniform Racing, and New Phoenix Stable!

It is with an immense sadness we are announcing that Jim Hilt left us yesterday. He was diagnosed with a metastatic pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago.
Christophe offered him the responsibility of our bookkeeping in 1991 and he stayed with our stable since , loyal for 36 years. ( I recalled meeting him in a small office at Belmont Park across from Shug’s barn , we were only 26 years old) So we are reflecting today on a beautiful journey together, we are so grateful. Jim was 79 years old but very proud to keep his job , hardworking and always so honest.

We wish his wife Kathy and his family all the courage in the difficult and painful grieving road ahead. Thank you Jim for a beautiful ride together 🙏
( *you are welcome to send flowers to Al Jacobson Funeral in Huntington Station NY 11746)

After discussions with the connections, we have made the decision that TAWNY PORT will bypass the The Lexus Melbourne Cup due to travel and quarantine requirements. US horses must first travel to the UK to complete a two-week pre-export quarantine before landing in Australia. Tawny Port’s next race will be in the G1 Canadian International at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday, October 3. It was an honor to receive a golden ticket to the Melbourne Cup after his win in the G2 Belmont Gold Cup, and we hope to have a horse in this prestigious race one day in the future!
