Cinderella || Victoria Morgan

Victoria Morgan spent 25 years as Artistic Director of Cincinnati Ballet. In 2000 she brought her own version of Cinderella to life, a production she has cherished ever since.

This version was inspired by her mentor, Michael Smuin. She admired his twinkling smile, his love of humor and goodwill, and the way he balanced hard work with pure joy onstage. She dedicated this ballet to him. Morgan’s version is full of bold movement, generosity, and pure theatrical joy. As she puts it, it’s a ballet that balances rigorous technique with laughter and grace-just like life.

This is the first time Victoria has set a ballet on Indianapolis Ballet. She has been with us for the last few weeks working closely with our dancers on artistry and storytelling.

We are deeply grateful for the chance to bring her beloved vision to life and to share it with the Indianapolis community.

We had so much fun at Parkinson’s Moving Day! Led by , IB helped give a warm up to the walkers before they got on the trail. Thanks to everyone who came out and donated to the cause. We can’t wait for next year’s Moving Day Indianapolis.
