St. Joseph's VEX Robotics Program is available to St. Joseph students in grades 3rd through 8th. This club is a competitive team program. In the VEX IQ Challenge, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more.

Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship. Registered students will be split into teams by our VEX Robotics coordinator: Mr. Jeremy Mount. Practices will be assigned by team captains.
The annual cost is $250/student. If your child is interested in participating, please complete this online form and return payment to St. Joseph Catholic School no later than Friday, August 21st.

Attention Parents, Students and those in need of community service hours!

As we prepare for the start of a new VEX Robotics season, we are excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. One of the most important ways we can begin the year on a positive note is by ensuring that our workspace is clean, organized, and ready for productivity.

A well-maintained robotics room not only helps us work more efficiently but also fosters pride in our program and our accomplishments. Taking care of our shared space is an important part of being a successful team.

To get the VEX room ready for the new season, we are seeking volunteers to help with several tasks, including:

Breaking down and removing old robot designs
Sorting and organizing parts and materials
Cleaning and wiping down work surfaces
General room organization and preparation

If you and your student would be willing to donate a little of your time, we would greatly appreciate your help. With several families working together, we can have the room back in excellent condition in no time.

Please consider signing up for a volunteer time slot. Your support helps create a positive environment for all of our students and sets the stage for a successful and productive season.

Thank you for your continued support of our VEX Robotics program. We look forward to another great year of innovation, teamwork, and achievement.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

Meet SJVU — The St. Joe Vex Unit.
Representing a coordinated robotics program built for the biggest stage in VEX Robotics, competing at the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis.

SJVU operates as two specialized units with one shared mission: to analyze the challenge, engineer the solution, and execute when it matters most.

🔎 The Odd Squad Investigation Unit — specializes in game analysis, strategy development, and breaking down every match like a case to be solved.

⚙️ Destroyers are our Engineering Lab Unit — focused on designing, building, testing, and refining the robot that turns strategy into reality.

From local practice to the world stage, every decision, rebuild, and adjustment has led them to this moment.

Let’s Go St. Joe!

This VEX Robotics season has truly been one to remember. Our students faced every challenge, from unexpected cancellations to wild weather and even a flooded practice room, with determination, creativity, and teamwork. Their commitment to refining their designs and pushing their engineering skills forward has been nothing short of inspiring. The robots they built did not just meet expectations; they exceeded them, and the results speak for themselves.

We are incredibly proud of every student in our program. Their dedication, resilience, and passion for robotics made this season a success from start to finish. While we are thrilled to be sending two teams to the World Championship in St. Louis, this achievement belongs to everyone. Every builder, coder, driver, notebook lead, and teammate contributed to the spirit and strength of our program.

Go Irish, and here is to an unforgettable experience ahead in St. Louis. The future is bright, and we cannot wait to see what these amazing students accomplish next.
