What would you ask in a room of entrepreneurial women?

That was the premise for Saturday’s Mentoring Think Tank hosted by Mentoring MUSE and HV Women in Business

Our circle included women at every stage of business ownership asking questions to help them get to the next level and sharing what has helped them navigate similar challenges through the years.

The perfect 'give and get' of in-person events like these.

Thrilled to be sitting and learning alongside you, Danielle Bionda Hughes Eva Tenuto Katherine Nicole Fleissner Sharon Rosen Painted Ladies Amanda Richline and others I hope to connect with again.

As Amy quoted in her recap: “Women supporting women is the most powerful force for change in the world.” — Ntozake Shange

I feel this deeply.

If you have questions you’re not finding the right rooms to ask them in, let me know. If I can’t help myself, I will open doors on your behalf.

Money follows compliments!

A conversation with a client recently got me thinking about this.

When you’re able to accept compliments, receive fully how appreciated you are, you’re able to accept more…including money.

It’s about knowing your value.

When you know you’re worth it, you carry yourself more powerfully. You expect more and won’t settle for less.

If that is a challenge for you, start to shift it this week.

When you’re complimented by a stranger, friend, employee, notice your initial reaction. Do you push it away? Do you think, that wasn’t that big of a deal? Do you hurry to compliment them back?

Pause while you notice and then take it in.

What happens inside of you when you simply say thank you in return?

You are worthy. Let it grow.

I feel lucky to be able to walk to meetings, especially on a beautiful night like yesterday.

Ulster County Chamber hosted their monthly mixer at Rondout Savings Bank a ten minute walk from my home.

A pleasure to see familiar faces with small business making meaningful impact and some I’ve helped through the years.

The The Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley is opening soon. Thanks for sharing info, Bea 🌙

A new photographer connection, great to meet you, Allison Gutekunst Media | Hudson Valley Photographer (clearly I should have put you in charge of these photos!)

So proud of the steps forward you continually make with your business, Play Haven NY

Always good to have a few moments to connect, Katy, Keri and Casey with KDD Marketing, Karen, Thomas and Cheryl with Rondout Savings Bank and Donna at Ulster Habitat For Humanity

Glad to run into you and hear more about Miles of Hope Lynne Miele-Versaci

And to walk home is the softening light to dinner, a silly seventh grade sleepover and cuddles with my doggie rounded out the day perfectly.

Do you push yourself too hard?

We are in a culture that tells us to, and we are often conditioned as A-students, first-borns, entrepreneurial go-getters to, so it’s no wonder.

Sometimes we need permission from others to let off the gas.

To take a breath and notice how powerful we still are, because the power is WITHIN us.

It’s not the outside accolades or degrees, it’s not the glowing reviews or number of likes. It’s our belief in ourselves that powers us.

Which means we can be as soft as we need to.

I love being in a room with you, Danielle Bionda Hughes

Thanks for these kind words about the time we’ve spent at retreats for women in business together and in conversations about financial empowerment.

And as for taking time to breathe, you are the master of that. How many meditation days in row do you have now - 500?! Amazing.

Who is on your personal and professional board of directors?

Inspired by an activity created by Jill Nicole Bluming I posed the question to my Advisory Alliance members during our virtual strategy session today.

Consider assembling the skills, expertise and experience you and your business most need right now.

Us solopreneurs especially need to build our advisors, whether through the kinds of circles I host or by creating mental meetings with the people you most admire.

Who are the people you want to learn from?

What questions would you love for others to help you answer?

I’ve had Eleanor Roosevelt on my board of directors in the past because I needed to be around her no nonsense energy and advice.

It’s the intention behind it. The conscious assembling.

It’s knowing you need it and taking the time to do it.

I’d love to know who is on your board and if you’re building one!

What would you do with an hour to focus?

When creating my new website, I added an 80 minute Business Strategy Session that you can book anytime you need it.

I’m hearing from more leaders and business owners that they just need to think and talk something through.

They need the SPACE to make a decision and create a plan.

It’s hard to carve out that kind of time on their own, but it feels easier when they book on my calendar.

When they commit to someone else to show up and really figure it out.

The luxury of an hour or more, can you imagine??

The relief of having taken it. Of knowing instead of wondering.

If you feel like that’s what you need, book it at the link in my bio.

Or, if you want to see if this is the right fit, we can do a free consultation first. Schedule that in my bio too!

New website! Take a look!

I help clients put themselves out there more clearly and confidently so this is me walking the walk.

As part of my 20th year as a marketing and business strategist and coach, I’m celebrating with new headshots, branding and a new streamlined, up-leveled site.

Using my name! LaureeOstrofsky.com

Simply Leap is phasing out, though leaping is still very much what we do together. Take bold action. Be scared and do it anyway.

You never ever have to do it alone.

Neither did I.

Tremendous thanks to .beaudin for website development and business coaching. She’s been the wind beneath my wings for a while.

Thanks also to my careful editors, especially , and .katy and .adhd Your insights and wordsmithing were invaluable.

was the mastermind behind two photo shoots and my willing and kind friends laughed with me through the second: (your space is gorgeous!), and

Thanks finally to shoot hosts and bakery.

We are the sum of the support we gather around us, and these names are just a few who I lean on.

Make sure you’re leaning on others in the midst of your new iterations.

I hope I’m one of them.

Expanding the scale of your work directly relates to the space you allow yourself to take up.

Let that sink in.

Because if you try to build bigger at work but stay small in relationships and family, it’s a jarring disconnect.

You’ll feel constricted and your work can suffer too.

You’re being inauthentic in at least one of those environments.

So when I witnessed the massive pieces by artist at Friday’s at I had to ask her:

How does working in bigger scales and taking up more physical gallery space affect how you take up space personally?

She shared how she’s needed to become more comfortable with it overtime.

From how she carried herself in front of the gathered audience, the larger scale is more authentic than ever for her.

Something for the rest of us to aim for as well.

Notice the space you’re comfortable taking up, even in conversations, and what’s possible in your work if you expand your personal space. And the reverse.

Great to see you and to meet you

Looking forward to the next.

The introvert was networking! And she remembered to take photos!

Meeting business owner-friends made it easier. We jumped right into conversation and introducing new people.

Lifting each other up.

Loved seeing you with Kate Waage

Big thanks to for hosting and sponsoring.

It could not have been a prettier night to gather.
