POV: Reciprocity was never meant to be 50/50 ⚖️
—
Real relationships with your partner, your friends, your family, don’t run on an even split. —
Some days you’re the one giving 80% while the other person can only show up with 20%. Some days it’s reversed. And some days, the most mature thing you can do is give 10% and let yourself be carried because pretending you have 50% to offer when you’re running on empty isn’t strength, it’s overextending.

The other side takes discipline too: being the one at 80% without keeping score, without quietly tallying what you’re owed. That’s its own kind of work.
—
What makes it all survivable is having people around you who understand that the percentages shif, and don’t punish you for the seasons you can’t carry your half (and sometimes, all of it).
—
Real reciprocity isn’t 50/50. It’s showing up with whatever you actually have, and trusting someone else will do the same when it’s your turn to be carried.

That’s not just your browser, my friend, that’s your nervous system.

When every tab is fighting for the same bandwidth, nothing loads all the way. The work slows.

The mind fogs. And you start mistaking busy for productive.

Overwhelm isn’t a sign you’re not doing enough. It’s a sign you’re doing too much at once with no rhythm to protect you.

PSST. Confession: for years I called it “being thorough.” It was fear in a good outfit. 🤎
Every yes, re-examined. Every decision, replayed at 2:00am.

I told myself the loop was diligence — until I admitted it was a cage.

What I needed was never more thinking. It was peace.
—
A pausing I’d never been given, so I finally gave it to myself.

I call it The Sacred Pause, and I wrote it into Part II of the 10th Anniversary Edition of Corporate Sisterhood.
