😎 Summer is quickly approaching and just about everywhere is starting to feel the heat. We want you 😊 happy, 💪healthy, and 🏃♀️🏃♂️hopping to go in November, so take these hot weather running tips and .
🌅🌄Run early or later in the day to avoid the sun at its peak
💧Hydrate BEFORE you’re thirsty - then hydrate some more!
🌳Find a shady route and catch the breeze under some trees
⚠️Slow it down and keep in mind that “every 5-degree rise in temperature above 60 degrees can slow your pace by as much as 20 to 30 seconds per mile.” (Runner’s World)
❤️🩹Take recovery seriously - after warmer runs, give your body grace and a proper chance to recover through stretching and rest
🥵Know the signs of heat related injuries and listen to your body (& keep an eye on running mates, too!). And remember that if you’ve suffered from a heat injury in the past, your likelihood of a repeat increases so hydrate and stay vigilant!
