This is the next event we will be at. Even if you are not racing, come over to the vendor area and get your chain cleaned and hot waxed! We plan on being set up Friday and Saturday, September 11th and 12th over at the LaCrescent Ice Arena.

Register and ride! We will be set up cleaning and waxing chains tomorrow from 10-2.

Can you believe it's time? This week is the 2026 Apple Blossom Bike Tour -- but there's still time to register online, or in person Friday night at packet pick-up, or on the day of the event.

You can still register online, or register Friday night at Packet Pick Up from 5:30 to 7:30 in the back of The Time Out Tavern, 444 N Chestnut, La Crescent. *If you choose to register Friday night, you will still need to CHECK IN Saturday morning so we know you are on the route. CHECK IN inside Time Out Tavern in the EXPRESS lane where you will get your WRISTBAND required for the lunch included in your registration.
Those that choose to register day of will receive their lunch wristband at that time.

We were invited by the Wayzata Mountain Bike Team to come wax chains Wednesdy evening at the Wayzata High School in Plymouth MN. What an awesome group! The Wayzata Mountain Bike Team is a Co-Ed team comprising 6 graders up to Seniors in High School. They were meeting at the High School for a series of training classes on stretching via yoga and how to maintain your mental health when competing. Next level stuff. 30 bikes showed up to be waxed. When asked if anyone had ever used a waxed chain before, 4 hands went up. There were a number of chains squeaking when we put em on the stand. And found one really tough little lady who has been riding with the brake dragging. (maybe that is part of her training? Sorry Dad). It will be interesting to see if the riders notice a difference with the waxed chains.
Thank You! To the Team and Team Leaders for having us come out and put their bikes through the machine. I hope to catch them again at an upcoming event.

It's official! We will be returning to the Chequamegon MTB Festival for this year's race to clean and wax chains. The plan is to set up early on Friday to catch folks before the race and then be there when the race is finished on Saturday to clean and wax chains to get folks ready for the next ride.
The Cheq was the first major event that let us come try out our first prototype in 2019. (Thanks Peter!). It was a wet year and riders were excited to have someone else deep clean their chains. We cleaned chains until the machine (and my arms) finally gave up. The lessons learned have been invaluable. The machine has changed alot since then. Better cleaning, faster cycles and higher reliability. We started with just cleaning and relubing using a liquid drip wax, Boeshield T-9. We still have the T-9 on board and can T-9 a chain at the touch of a button. However for that last couple of years we've been perfecting hot waxing the chain while it's still on the bike. Everyone wants the hot wax because it is the bomb. Chain stays clean, the l**e lasts longer, chain, cassette and chain ring last longer. For you wax virgins out there, having the VonBuckinator wax your chain is a no hassle way to try hot wax without commandeering the spouses crock pot.

Awesome two days up at the Lutsen 99er cleaning and waxing chains. Common feedback phrases- "Smooth", "Gamechanger". Weather was perfect. Next event on the Calendar- Appleblossomtour August 15th. Hope to see you there!

Bentonville Bike Fest was amazing! If you haven't been to that area to ride, you gotta go. Hundreds of miles of mountain trails, cool spots and an extensive bike infrastructure. We had a steady stream of riders come through for a chain clean and wax. By the look on their faces, I thnk we blew some minds.
Next event is coming up quick- Lutsen 99er is happening on Saturday the 27th. We plan on setting up Friday morning and doing chains in the afternoon. So if you plan on picking up your packet Friday, bring your bike along and get it waxed. I think we will be in the same spot as last year, on the East side of the clubhouse deck.
