In 2018, ba****ck rider Caleb Bennett put together one of the most impressive seasons in Wilderness Circuit history, finishing the year with $61,117.75 in season earnings the highest total recorded in the last 15 years in the Ba****ck Riding.

Fast forward to today (August 5), and Cooper Cooke sits at the top of the Wilderness Circuit Ba****ck Riding standings with $41,976.33 already earned.

For a little perspective, Cooke captured the 2025 Wilderness Circuit Ba****ck Riding Championship with $40,545.39 for the entire season. He’s already surpassed that mark, and there are still roughly 56 days of Wilderness Circuit rodeos remaining.

Congratulations to the Mountain Valley Stampede in Heber City, Utah, and the War Bonnet Round Up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on an outstanding week of professional rodeo.

Both rodeos saw their barrel racing arena records broken, highlighting the exceptional talent of today’s competitors and the commitment these committees have made to providing safe, consistent, and fast ground.

At the Mountain Valley Stampede, Sydney Graham and Dupont First set a new arena record with a 16.49 second run, which also established a new WPRA record for the fastest time ever run on a standard set at a PRCA rodeo.

At the War Bonnet Round Up, Tricia Aldridge and Adios Pantalones set a new arena record with a 16.71 second run.

The Wilderness Circuit is proud to see our rodeos continue to raise the standard. In fact, the Wilderness Circuit Finals was one of the first circuit finals to incorporate a dedicated drag during barrel racing a commitment to quality ground that remains a priority today.

What a week for the Wilderness Circuit!

Our cowboys and cowgirls showed up in a big way at the NFR Open, and the results speak for themselves. Not only did we have competitors bring home National Championships, but the Wilderness Circuit also claimed the 2026 NFR Open Team Title with an incredible $103,541.67 in earnings.

That says a lot about the talent, depth, and grit we have in this circuit. From top to bottom, our contestants continue to prove they can compete with anyone in the country.
