We're hosting some free classes this Saturday, 8/22 at the Eagles Lodge in Lincoln. These classes are great if you're interested in getting a CCL and want an idea of what the class is like, if you want more information after getting your CCL, or just want to learn some fundamentals! Classes are free, you just have to register on the site!

What a great weekend with a great group of students! I'm thankful to each and every one of them for trusting me to be their instructor, not to mention we had the best average score on their qualifications!

One of the things we don't talk about that much is why people decide to get their concealed carry license. It's not so you can be big and bad and carry a gun looking for an excuse to use it. It's really quite the opposite, you're carrying the nuclear option when it comes to self defense, and you should do everything you can to avoid having to use it. At the end of the day, people recognize that bad things happen all the time, everywhere across the country. Regardless of your age, gender, race or religion, your safety and the safety of your loved ones is ultimately your responsibility.

Take the time to be as prepared as you can be, whether that's taking classes with me or anyone else, practicing on the range, or talking with your family about safety plans.

It's very early in the process, but a bill was introduced to allow IL CCL holders to carry in rest areas, public parks, and on public transportation. I will keep everyone posted with updates!
