Four days out.

This Thursday, September 10th, we're cutting the ribbon on the new space — and we would love for you to be there.

5:30 to 7:00. The ribbon gets cut, and then we get to do the fun part: show you around.

We're co-hosting with our neighbors at Topsail Dental, and the Topsail Chamber of Commerce is doing the honors. Walk through both spaces. Meet both teams. There will be live music and something to eat.

Come see where you'd actually be treated — the treatment rooms, the training floor, the equipment we use every day. Ask us what any of it does. We genuinely like that question.

No pitch. No sales table. Just a good evening with our neighbors.

Alpha Osteopractic has been part of Hampstead since 2023, and in July we moved into a space big enough to do this the way it should be done. Thursday is the night we get to celebrate that with the people who made it possible.

Thursday, September 10 · 5:30–7:00 PM
16493 US-17, Suite D · Hampstead, NC

Bring your family. Bring a neighbor. Come celebrate with us.

Hit Going on the event so we know to look for you.

Basketball requires more than skill — and most parents already know it, even if nobody's said it out loud.

Your athlete can have the handle, the shot, and the basketball IQ, and still get beat on the first step. Still hesitate on a closeout. Still run out of legs in the fourth quarter of a game they were controlling in the first.

None of that gets fixed with more reps on the ball.

Skill training builds shooting, ball handling, finishing, and basketball IQ. There are good people in this area doing that work, and I'm not trying to replace them.

We build the other half — the physical foundation that lets the skill your athlete already has actually show up in a game:

- Quicker first step — explode past defenders and close space faster
- More explosive jumping — more force off the floor for rebounds, finishes, and second jumps
- Better change of direction — brake harder, cut faster, re-accelerate without losing control
- Stronger on the court — absorb contact, hold position, stay durable through a season
- Better body control — land, stop, and redirect even when the game gets chaotic
- Game-ready conditioning — built for repeated sprints, jumps, and defensive possessions, not miles on a treadmill

Great players need both halves.

Here's how ours works. Eight weeks, two sessions a week, September 14 through November 4. Groups of 4–6 athletes — small enough that every rep gets watched and corrected, which is the entire value. We test every athlete in week one so the program is built around them specifically, then retest at the end and show you the comparison side by side, including anything that didn't move.

And it runs inside our physical therapy practice here in Hampstead. When something starts to hurt over eight weeks with a teenager — and something usually does — it gets looked at that day instead of costing them a month.

September 14 – November 4 · Mondays and Wednesdays
High school: 2:45 – 3:45 PM
Middle school: 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Alpha Osteopractic, Hampstead NC

Swipe through to see what the eight weeks actually build. Then DM "HOOPS" or comment below, and I'll give you an honest answer about whether I think it's a fit for your athlete. Sometimes it isn't, and I'd rather say so.

Build the athlete behind the player.

What a day at Turf, Tacos, & Tests! 🏈🌮

There's nothing quite like getting out in the community, connecting with families, and pouring into our youth athletes — and today was exactly that. Huge thanks to Coach Chris forinviting us; this kind of collaboration is what makes our local sports community so strong.

We brought some hands-on performance testing to the event and had a blast breaking down what it all means for young athletes. Here's what we tested and why it matters:

🦘 Broad Jump A simple but powerful measure of lower-body explosive power. It tells us how efficiently an athlete can produce force horizontally — key for sprinting, jumping, and change-of-direction sports.

🏃 5-10-5 Agility Test This measures change-of-direction speed — how quickly an athlete can accelerate, decelerate, and redirect. It gives coaches insight into footwork mechanics and lateral quickness, which matter both for performance and for protecting the knees and ankles as young athletes grow.

💪 Chin-Up / Isometric Hang Test This looks at upper body pulling strength and shoulder stability. For growing athletes, building this kind of strength early supports healthier shoulders and better performance in throwing, climbing, and contact sports.

✊ Grip Strength Test (VALD DynaMo Pro) Using the VALD DynaMo Pro, we captured two key numbers:

Max force — how strong the muscle can ultimately get
Rate of force production — how fast an athlete can generate that strength

Grip strength is one of the best overall markers of total-body strength and neuromuscular development, so together these numbers tell us a lot about where an athlete stands.

Why does all this matter? Because data lets coaches and trainers prescribe the right exercises and programming for each individual athlete — helping our youth: ✅ Perform at their best ✅ Reduce their risk of injury ✅ Build real confidence in their bodies as they grow

More than anything, today was about community — showing up for our youth athletes, celebrating what their bodies can already do, and giving them a game plan to keep getting better. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, and thank you Coach Chris for being such a great partner in this! 🙌

Your sport has demands. Does your training?

Plenty of programs will make an athlete tired. Fewer ask what that athlete's sport actually requires — how they accelerate, decelerate, rotate, land, and hold up over a season — and then build for it.

That's the whole idea behind Alpha Performance Coaching. We train the specific qualities your sport is asking for: sprint mechanics, agility and change of direction, jumping and landing, explosive and relative strength, rotational power, core stability, mobility, conditioning, and injury-risk reduction. Not random hard work — training with a purpose.

This is a fit if:
✅ Your athlete is done with rehab but not back to full speed
✅ They're training hard but not getting faster or stronger
✅ You want an off-season plan instead of another random workout
✅ They're heading into a college or club season and want to hold up through it

Every athlete starts with an assessment, so the plan is built around what we actually find — not a template.

Two ways to train:

1-on-1 Coaching — Private and fully individualized, built around your goals, history, limitations, and performance needs, with coaching through every session. Best for specific goals or limitations.

Small-Group, by Sport — Athletes with shared demands train together, with structured progression, real coaching, competition, accountability, and a lower cost per athlete. Golf, baseball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, and more.

Let's build the plan. Book a complimentary consult call and we'll talk through the sport, the season, and where the gaps are.

Yes, we have a lot of tools. Here's why that matters.

Dry needling. E-stim. Manual therapy. Joint mobilizations. Joint manipulation. Soft tissue mobilization. Cupping. IASTM (scraping). Hot stones. Exercise prescription. Neuro-musculoskeletal re-training. NMES. Musculoskeletal ultrasound. And more.

We don't use all of these on everyone. We use whichever ones actually match what you need, in that moment, to move you toward your goals.

Because here's the truth about most PT: it's not the tools that are missing — it's the customization. Cookie-cutter plans. The same three exercises handed to every patient regardless of what's actually going on. Repeater sessions that look identical week after week, whether or not you're actually progressing.

That's not how we practice.

Every session starts with an assessment — what's changed since last time, what's progressing, what's not, and what today actually calls for. Then we treat accordingly. Some sessions lean heavily manual. Some are almost entirely load and movement. Some blend several tools together. The plan adapts because you're not the same person you were at your last visit — your body is either responding or it's not, and we adjust in real time either way.

Having this many tools isn't about doing more to you. It's about never having to force you into a treatment that isn't the right one for where you are right now.

That's the difference between generic care and care that's actually built around you.

Cleared to play isn't the same as built to perform.

Here's something we see constantly at Alpha: an athlete gets cleared by their doctor, finishes PT, and heads back to their sport... only to get hurt again a few months later. Or they just never quite get back to their previous level.

Why? Because there's a gap between rehab, general fitness, and true sports performance — and almost every athlete falls right into it.

Alpha Performance Coaching was built to close that gap. Instead of guessing, we identify the specific physical qualities your sport demands — strength, power, speed, deceleration, change of direction, rotational power, jumping and landing mechanics — and train them on purpose. Not just a harder workout. A more intentional one.

We offer two ways to train:

1-on-1 Performance Coaching — Private, fully individualized coaching built around your goals, training history, and current limitations. A coach is beside you for every rep. Great for return-to-performance after injury or targeted sport-specific strength work.

Small-Group Sport-Specific Training — Athletes who play the same sport train together, working the physical qualities that sport actually demands, with real coaching and real progression at a lower cost per athlete. We currently work with golf, baseball/softball, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, running, pickleball, and other field and court sports.

If you have an athlete (or you are one) heading into a new season, coming back from injury, or just tired of training without a plan — we'd love to talk it through.

Book a complimentary consult call and we'll map out what your sport, or your season, actually asks of your body. Link below.

"I have dealt with back pain for over 20 years and have tried everything. Dr B was the first to not only help with my pain currently, but also taught me how to manage it in the future. I am so grateful." - John H
Twenty years is a long time to search for an answer. John had tried it all before coming to us — and what finally made the difference wasn't just short-term relief, it was actually understanding what was driving his pain and learning how to manage it going forward.
That's the goal with every patient who walks through our door: not a temporary fix, but real answers and the tools to stay ahead of the problem long term.
Thank you, John, for trusting us with your care after so many years of frustration, and for sharing your story with us.
If you've been dealing with pain that keeps coming back no matter what you've tried, we would love to help you find the real cause. Send us a message or give us a call to schedule a visit at Alpha Osteopractic in Hampstead, NC.
