Conquer the clay trails of Cherrylake’s 1,100 acre tree farm with a 5k, 10k or duathlon! 🏃 1.31.2026 We value the importance of community and sustainability.

Our Cherrylake Farm Races presented by Orlando Health South Lake Hospital features a 5k, 10k or duathlon. It's an exciting time when friends and families enjoy the outdoors, local businesses come out to meet their neighbors, and racers get to experience a unique tree-lined course. Because of this, our goal for Farm Races is much more than providing racers with just a great morning outdoors. In honor of each participant, we will be donating one tree to be planted in a protected conservation area. Race proceeds will be allocated to a local non-profit.

In 2021, we donated 1,000 bald cypress trees, which were planted along the north shore of Lake Apopka as part of ongoing restoration efforts. Bald cypress trees help to manage and regulate floods, remove nitrogen and phosphorus from water, and maintain a healthy PH. Over time, phosphorus levels in Lake Apopka have declined by 67%–69%, and water clarity has increased by 66%–97% since the late 1980s, with annual average phosphorus concentration falling below target levels for the first time in 2022. We are so grateful that the Farm Races family was able to play a role in that!

Back in 2022, we donated 48, 100-gallon Live Oak trees, transforming a half-mile stretch of the South Lake Trail with much-needed shade and natural beauty. Starting just beyond Lake Hiawatha Park at the intersection of 561 and 565A and heading west, this once-exposed path could be a tough stretch for runners, cyclists, and pedestrians. Together, this effort brought awareness to the value of planting native trees to help preserve our region’s rural character. Huge thanks to Farm Racers for being part of it!

The Farm Races family left a lasting mark on the community with the Plant for the Future mural at the Downtown Clermont Art Walk. This unique project stands as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and nurture the environment that sustains us. More than a piece of art, it’s a call to action, an invitation to care for the land and the future we all share. The 2025 Farm Races swag pays homage to this mural and its message: to steward the land for generations to come.

“Super great place to host a duathlon. The uniqueness of running through the farmland was a fun experience. The hills on the bike and the run were an added challenge along with the soft sand in the run. The course was very well marked and laid out well. Very organized event and well managed. Will definitely be back!”
