For those who are wondering, I have been on another small hiatus. This is due mostly to changes in my personal life, buying a house 2 states away is no small thing.
As we have gotten settled into our new home I have been doing extensive research into our new "backyard".. well this weekend we finally loaded up the kayaks and went to explore this new backyard.
The mountains called, and we answered.

"Breath"

While spending time together is great, sometimes you just need a moment to breathe.
When work, kids, bills, life starts to smother you, sometimes you just need to breathe.
And when the world seems to stifle you and all seems lost, sometimes you just need to breathe.
That's why I'm naming this moment, "breath"

Hello Friends!
As I was uploading footage from our 4 day springs trip down the mighty Suwannee River I had noticed missing footage.
Now normally this is ok. I usually get more than I need however this one shook me.
I was missing an entire day's footage from the GoPro!
I thought to myself "it's ok, I have some stuff I can use and I'll just do a voice over."
It was unsettling, the entire outro to my newest video was filmed on the GoPro, including quick clips for social media, and even some outtakes (of Jessie throwing mud pies at me)
Troy springs, gone. Little River Springs, gone. Running Springs, gone.
All of that was from the last day!
Then an idea struck me.
In a last ditch effort I decided to look back at some older footage still saved on the SD card.

Lo' n' Behold, there it was, labeled from a trip back in January. The Gopro had decided to record over some old footage that I no longer needed.

This trip was exactly what we needed.

Staying on the Suwannee River may seem daunting. Thankfully the Florida State Parks offer river camps posted roughly every 10 miles (intermixed with other parks such as Lafayette Blue Springs and Suwannee River State Park)
Only accessible by boat, these River cabins add just a little extra comfort while putting some river miles behind you. Each camp has five "cabins" or screened pavilions that provide electricity, potable water, lights, and a fan. Most of the cabins are also set with i bolts to hang hammocks from (our preferred method of camping) and the camps also have bathroom facilities at each which includes showers. Depending on the season reservations may be required.
