December 3,1961

While dropping back to pass on the Giants' 19-yard line, Bart Starr was caught in a blitz by veteran Giants linebacker Tom Scott. Instead of taking the sack, Starr used Scott's own momentum against him, flipping the linebacker completely over his head before taking off down the field on a spectacular scramble to the Giants' 5-yard line.

🏈 ONE OF THE GREATEST UPSETS! 🏈

The underdog Minnesota Vikings marched into Milwaukee County Stadium and did the unthinkable: they handed Vince Lombardi's legendary Green Bay Packers their very first loss of the season in a gritty 10–7 defensive battle!

Here is how the drama unfolded:💥 The Explosive Start: Green Bay struck first when backup QB Zeke Bratkowski launched an 86-yard bomb to Carroll Dale for a 7–0 lead.🏃‍♂️ The Comeback: Trailing in the 4th quarter, Minnesota's Bill Brown powered in a 1-yard touchdown run to tie it up.

🎯 The Game-Winner: After a clutch late interception by Earsell Mackbee, Fred Cox drilled a 12-yard field goal with just 8 seconds left on the clock! It was a classic, muddy, hard-nosed vintage NFL battle that shocked the football world.

Despite this early-season stumble, Vince Lombardi's Packers went on to finish 9–4–1, eventually winning the NFL Central division and defeating the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II

🏈 VIKINGS STUN THE PACKERS — OCTOBER 15, 1967

On October 15, 1967, the underdog Minnesota Vikings pulled off a major upset, defeating the previously unbeaten Green Bay Packers, 10–7, at Milwaukee County Stadium.

The loss was Green Bay’s first of the season and a rare stumble for Vince Lombardi’s defending champions. In a hard-fought defensive battle, Minnesota managed to do what few teams could during the Lombardi era—walk away from Wisconsin with a victory over the Packers.

But the loss was only a bump in the road. Green Bay would recover and ultimately capture its third consecutive NFL Championship, followed by a victory over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II.

October 21, 1962 — Packers vs. 49ers

The **Green Bay Packers** continued their dominant 1962 season with a **31–13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers** at Milwaukee County Stadium.

With **Paul Hornung sidelined by a knee injury**, (Hornung trained at Fort Riley during the week and flew out on weekends to play games for the Green Bay Packers without practicing with the team). Green Bay turned to **Tom Moore**, who stepped into the backfield alongside **Jim Taylor**. Taylor provided his trademark power running, pounding away at the San Francisco defense behind Vince Lombardi’s formidable offensive line.

The victory improved Green Bay to **6–0**, part of an incredible start that saw the Packers win their first 10 games. Lombardi's team eventually finished **13–1** and capped the season by defeating the New York Giants for the **1962 NFL Championship**.

The photograph captures **Jim Taylor ( #31)** fighting for yardage against the 49ers—a classic image of the bruising, physical football that defined Lombardi's championship Packers.
