🚨 FULL TIME 🚨
GRSC falls 3-2 to Holland Rovers in our home opener.
The match started brightly as GRSC controlled possession, but a series of mental mistakes put the boys in a difficult position, losing 0-3 at halftime. At the break, Coach Manuel Vidrio challenged the team to view the second half as a new game. The response was immediate.
GRSC came out flying, pressing high and creating chance after chance. One goal came, then another, and suddenly the momentum had completely shifted. The boys pushed until the final whistle, throwing everything forward in search of an equalizer, but ultimately ran out of time.
While the result wasn’t what we wanted, tonight showed the character of this group. The second half proved what this team is capable of and highlighted the mentality that will be required moving forward this season.
Credit to a strong Holland Rovers side, and thank you to everyone who came out to support the boys under the lights at Mehney.
