King's Walk Golf Course

King's Walk Golf Course An Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course King’s Walk recreates the same atmosphere that is found at the great links courses of Scotland and Ireland.
(259)

Over 650,000 cubic yards of originally flat earth were excavated to allow the course to roll and flow around hundreds of individual mounds, deep ravines, steep ridges, and two large lakes. Our large bent grass greens are protected and framed by beautifully sculpted bunkers, mounds, and collection areas. Hardwood trees border the course along with clusters of pines on the interior hills. Tall fescu

e grasses add to the links style which completes this Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. The design stretches over 7,200 yards from the back tees, however, it plays 5,400 yards from the front tees. Four sets of tees allow golfers of all abilities an opportunity to enjoy this unique golf experience. Whether you are an elite player or casual golfer, each round at King’s Walk promises to be an exceptional one.

Club House Roof Shingle Replacement Notice:

Roofing work will begin Tuesday, September 8th and continue through approximately Sunday, September 13th with all buildings receiving new black shingles.

What to expect:
You may notice some roofing activity around the property, including a shingle delivery and roll-off dumpster. The Clubhouse will be the first building to be re-shingled, with the project the continuing across the remaining buildings.

The existing red shingles are being replaced because they have been discontinued and are increasingly difficult to source, while the new black shingles will provide a consistent, updated look across the property.

Eagles Crest Grill, the Pro Shop, and all other facilities will remain open as normal, with directional signage provided as needed.

It’s that time of year again…Green Aerification time

All greens are scheduled to be aerified on Monday, August 31st. Please note, it takes 7-10 days for the greens to completely heal from this process. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we do this annual green maintenance.

Ever wonder why the greens are aerified? Here are 5 things to know about Green Aeration according to USGA.com

1. We aerate to improve, not annoy
- Putting greens receive more traffic than any other playing surface.
- Aeration process helps relieve the compaction caused by all that traffic.
- It also helps create a firm, smooth putting surface by controlling thatch and promoting healthy turf roots.

2. Scratch the thatch
-Thatch is a layer of old plant material that accumulates at the soil surface.
- If you don’t dilute thatch on green it acts like a sponge, holding water near the surface.
- Excessive thatch creates soft playing conditions, inconsistent green speeds and increases the risk of disease.

3. Timing is everything
- Do you ever wonder why aeration is commonly performed when putting greens are playing their best?
- Aerating when grass is healthy & growing minimizes damage & allows for a quick return to optimal playing conditions.
- Aerating at other times may be more convenient for the golf schedule, but it lengthens recovery times, increases the risk of an invasion of weeds and could cause lasting damage.

4. It’s not as bad as you think
- It may seem like there are more holes than grass on the greens right after they’ve been aerated, but this is an illusion.
- Typically, aeration affects less than 10 percent of a putting surface.

5. Sand is part of the plan
- A heavy application of topdressing following aeration may appear to make putting greens less playable.
- However, filling aeration holes with sand actually helps create a smoother surface.
- Sand also creates channels for water and air movement, dilutes thatch and helps greens recover more quickly.
