This is a great story to tell and a good example of when I tell you I’m here for your kids and to never hesitate to ask me for help!

It’s often that parents ask me for advice…Months ago, a parent was referred to me from a coach I know. She brought me her daughter and told me that she needed help because she was living a nightmare in the current club team and that her daughter wanted to quit soccer because of it. This player was mentally devastated and broken down because of the way the coach was treating her. The mom shared with me that it came to a point after practices her daughter would cry because of the negativity of the coach and her daughter said “I don’t want to play soccer anymore mom” The mom, of course, continued to encourage her to stay in it and that there were other options, and they could look for a new team. One day, they were talking to her daughter’s high school coach, and he recommended they go to Coach Hugo to help her recover her confidence, work with her technique and most importantly her mentality.

Because it was mid season, they tried to work with the club to give her the release from the team, and unfortunately the club denied them. At that time, they decided to stop playing with that team even though it was still months from the end of the season. Instead, they focused on attending my group training sessions 2 days a week. And added weekly 1:1s as well. The player’s hard work improved her skills, giving her even more confidence and she was genuinely happy playing and had recovered the love for the sport again! Her level of play has improved significantly and she leveled up and is now part of my Elite group training sessions.

The months of hard work and consistency in training, and using my resources and connections I have across the valley, I guided her to tryout this spring with a great team and a great coach and she made the new team!

This is just ONE example of MANY from the players I train and have helped with similar situations! This is what keeps me motivated to continue to impact more players. It is such a great feeling knowing that I was a part of turning a player’s situation from a nightmare to happiness and love for the game again.

Many parents share stories about how their kids are doing in their teams and share the frustration that the teams and coaches don’t focus on the kids’ skills and development, it seems like all the teams want is their money.
When they bring their kids to me, they have hope for improving their child’s skills, their mentality, and seeking guidance to recover the motivation and love for the sport. And I love being a part of a turnaround story in a player’s journey! ⚽️💗🧠🙏

To the ones who signed up for the summer camp indoors in Avondale! Don't forget these instructions!

No cleats ALLOWED! Has to be indoor soccer shoes like turf, futsal, or regular sneakers!

BRING YOUR OWN SOCCERBALL! We work with individual skills, so you need your own soccer ball!

Get there at least 10 minutes earlier, especially the first week, so I give your kids the instructions of the camp, and assign their groups!

It's completely sold out both ours since weeks ago, so no spots forgot absolutely no one! The space is reduced and I cannot squeeze no one in!

Please remind your kids to come with a positive mind and ready to work hard! Respect the others!
I won't allow any type of misbehave!

I'm excited for this to start! See you all tomorrow!

I do appreciate a lot all of you my mamas!!!

First, I appreciate the time and hustle you make to bring your kids to my training to get better!
As a responsible parent, I know all the things that are going on in life with all of our daily duties we have! I know you're exhausted, you have a lot in your head, you have to figure it out about a lot of things from your family, and you still have the energy to bring your kids with me! 🙏

Second, I admire and respect all the mamas because the only pure and incondicional love in life is the one from our mothers! 🥺❤️

My own mother is my HERO!!!
She did the impossible to give me a life full of love and she made sure to raise me to be a good person! Since I was born she became a single mom and battled against the world to protect me!!! 🥺
I'm not gonna lie, I have a little bit of water on my eyes but I always like to speak with the bottom of my heart!

Thank you thank you thank you, simply just for being a mother! 🙏

GIRL GOALIE OPPORTUNITY!!

I have a great opportunity for a passionate goalkeeper! I'm looking for a 2014-2013 girl goalie who wants to improve and be a complete goalkeeper for my Surf club team!!

In my teams I like to build up from the bottom, so it's very important to have a goalkeeper with good footwork! I'll teach you that! I've had goalkeepers come to my trainings to improve on footwork and they did it! You won't have to go to an extra training to learn that if you don't want too! You'll have all the resources with me here at Surf!
I have another tryout tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:30pm at Friendship Park field 7!

I also have a few spots to fill up in each line. Defense, midfielder, and a forward. I have almost a full roster to create competition in between my players! ⚽️💗💪🔥

There's multiple people who are asking if I'm still going to have my trainings, since I'm going to be coaching a girls team! Yes! Of course! I'm still going to have my trainings as normally!

For the rest of May,
Mondays at 6-7pm, ages 6-13.
Elite 14 and up at 7-8:15 pm.
Thursdays at 6-7pm, ages 6-14. Those 2 group sessions at friendship park!

Fridays 5:45:6:45 ages 4-17. In Estrella.

For June and July.
Mondays 6:30-7:30 pm, ages 6-13.
Elite 14 and up at 7:30-8:45 pm.
Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm, Ages 6-13.
Elite 14 and up, 7:30-8:45 pm. All of those at friendship park!
