UPDATE: the application was DENIED, by a vote of 3-1. We only had about a dozen people speak out of about 60 total. The rest were against. They won, we lost.
I don't think tonight went as planned.
They still haven't voted and it's almost 1am.
I want to thank our archers and parents who showed up to support. Violet, Dev, Liam, Aishani and Brooks.
It was a late night and it's still not over.
I totally understand that most had to leave before I got to speak, no regrets there.
Liam stayed till the end and stood with me as I addressed the commission.
Liam and Aim With Aishani got to meet the reporter from Channel 12 or 6, I can't remember.
She wants to do a story on them and their archery. So the evening wasn't a total loss.
The opposition was very organized and really put on a good show, even though most comments were totally ridiculous.
If this item tonight is denied, it will still go before the board of supervisors. Then only 4 can vote and if it's a split vote, it's considered a denial and this project will be dead and gone.
I cannot stress enough how important it is for everyone to be engaged in this project.
The opposition is strong and many. To win we really must have our $h together.
