Here we are, slackin again. But it’s been a REAL long week! Tristen and Caitlin closed on their new house on Tuesday (congrats!) with Sara Carter - Home Place Realty and got all moved in just in time to head over to Black Hills Speedway to race Thursday and Friday night. Thursday was pretty good but Friday was Layne and Tristen’s favorite race to date. They battled it out side by side and bumper to bumper all 12 laps of the main. While Tristen took 5th in the 00 Newba Wyoming car and Layne took 6th in the 10-4 Cody’s Puzzle Piece Foundation car both boys came off the track smiling and so happy. Between Thursdays race and Fridays race the boys did some touristy things over in the black hills so we’re gonna throw in a couple pictures just for some filler. Enjoy the antics, the boys sure do. We’ll see you tonight at Gillette Thunder Speedway Gts for the 3rd night of border wars and for the season points results!!

ITS RACE DAY!!! Tonight is the points championship and we’re really looking forward to hitting the track after a couple weeks off! To add to the excitement we’re doing the candy toss at intermission today and next Saturday! Welp, last night was one of those "you win some you lose some" kind of races. We definitely didn’t win some. Justin in the 14A didn’t make it to the heat because his car got loaded on the wrong trailer and ripped out his fuel line. He made it to the main and on the last lap he put a hole in the block and had a pretty fireball under the hood for a brief second. Tristen in the 00 Newba Wyoming car took 3rd in the heat but was turned into a pinball during the main and never made it out of the first corner before having a tire shredded. To round out our team Layne in the 10-4 Cody’s Puzzle Piece Foundation car finished the race in 6th. Not the night we wanted but it is what it is. Thank you Gillette Thunder Speedway Gts for a great track, the officials for pushing Justin’s car off not once but twice in one night, and of course all of our sponsors. Time to rebuild and get back out there.

Another busy weekend for the Dilts racing team! Friday night we had the raffle car for Newba Wyoming at the derby where Austin Jack Daniel Ward took 3rd place in his first ever demolition derby! Pretty sure he’s addicted and will be rebuilding! There’s not too much that needs replaced and probably some reinforcement to be done. Then Saturday night it was off to the races! Austin (not the same Austin, we know, we been fighting it for 2 weeks now 😂) in the 19 car lost his belt in a series of unfortunate events causing him to pull off in the heat and not be able to race the main. Justin in the 14A pulled off in the main after hearing a clunking sound, way to save the car bud, it’s an easy fix and we’ll have him back out there. Layne in the 10-4 Cody’s Puzzle Piece Foundation car absolutely ROBBED his brother in the last lap and took 5th leaving Tristen in the 00 NEWBA Wyoming car to take 6th. There may have been gestures back and forth in the cool down lap but the guys were all smiles and had a great time! It was a good weekend where we got to watch all our hard work pay off and we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you to Gillette Thunder Speedway Gts for giving us a place to have our fun every weekend and ensuring everyone’s safe. Thank you to everyone who lets us know you’re watching and rooting us on. And thank you of course to our sponsorship team! We really couldn’t do this without all of you!

Yesterday was such a busy day and a great night! We spent the day getting the derby car ready and delivered, race cars trailered and cleaned, our mom, aunt, and very good friend out to the office to handle the raffle until we were done racing (thank you again!) and we headed to the track where Tristen and Layne both fanboy-ed. We got to meet and race with Joseph Renfro Racing! We’ve been following him on TikTok for awhile now (you should be too!) and boy his videos don’t do him justice! That man is FAST. Waxed our doors off but it was a BLAST. We had a good night of clean racing all the way around. Tristen in the 00 Newba Wyoming car took 6th and Layne in the 10-4 Cody’s Puzzle Piece Foundation took 7th. After getting off the track we immediately loaded up and headed to the Steel Stallion Ball where we FINALLY got to draw the winner of the demolition derby car! Sakura Ward-Sterrett won the derby car and they are stoked to hit that track Friday night! We raised a good chunk of money for NEWBA and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you to everyone who’s helped us out along this path, supported us, played fill in when we couldn’t be there, and believed in us. We’re going to keep doing everything we can to give back and show how much we appreciate all of it. We also want to thank our sponsors once again. We really wouldn’t be where we are without all of you and it means the world to us.
