So much fun at the this weekend! Grateful to Ben at for bringing people together for a good time and a great cause. It was a truly spectacular day, connecting with long time friends and cultivating new friendships- I was overflowing with joy, both on the mat and on the dance floor. Thank you for letting and me kick off the day yesterday with mindful movement and sound bath meditation to help us all ground in this practice of connection- to self, to community and to the Earth that holds us. We so appreciate the opportunity to support the work of the Adams County Land Conservancy in preserving and protecting the land we live on. 🫶🧘🌱

“The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness.”

“If we are to teach real peace in this world… we shall have to begin with the children.” –Mahatma Gandhi

Join us this summer for a week of mindful movement, collaborative creativity and imaginative play at Rise Yoga Gettysburg. No prior experience with yoga or mindfulness necessary. For those who have only experienced yoga for adults, you might be thinking, "Is yoga really for kids? My kids aren't calm. Is that ok?" Children's Yoga looks a lot different than adult yoga, but incorporates the same elements of mindfulness, movement and connection, but in a fun, age-appropriate and accessible way for young people. It is a lively experience including storytelling, creative expression and teamwork, and our instructional team is certified specifically in yoga and mindfulness for kids! However this camp offers way more than yoga poses: loads of nature-inspired artistic expression, strategies to work through big emotions, social-emotional development and team-building and imaginative adventures with daily walking field trips. Send your children exactly as they are, with their big open hearts and creative energy.

We are thrilled to be offering a full-day camp this year with 3 different weeks to choose from!!

As many of you know, preserving green spaces, supporting local community, and creating opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves, each other, and nature are causes close to my heart. That is one of the reasons Soulshine By Shannon was proud to sponsor this year’s festival and support the Land Conservancy of Adams County.

🌿 Share a photo of your favorite Adams County outdoor spot and tell us why it is meaningful to you.

Whether it is a favorite hiking trail, a mountain overlook, a peaceful stream, a local park, your backyard sanctuary, or a place where you simply go to breathe, I would love to see the places that inspire you.

I will randomly select one participant to receive the complimentary two-day festival pass.

Meet a very special May Rise Yogi Spotlight, Marie Haller, who we are excited to be welcoming to the instructional team later this summer for a perinatal yoga class. Read our full interview below 🤩

🧘What brought you to yoga?

"I found my way to yoga through dance classes in college and have maintained a regular practice, exploring many different modalities of yoga, for the past 20+ years. While running my own birth doula business, I trained as a prenatal and postpartum yoga instructor, so now I also weave this expertise into my work with pregnant and postpartum clients!"

✨What is your favorite yoga pose, breath or mindfulness practice? Why?

"One of my long time favorite poses is triangle pose just because it feels good to me. My current jobs involve a lot of desk/sitting time and I think this helps stretch out all of the areas that feel stiff as well as strengthen muscles at the same time."

🙏How do you notice yoga supporting you "off the mat"?

"Off the mat, I work as a Perinatal Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Coach for Prospera, and in women's health at the nonprofit CARE.org. It feels critical when working in a health/healing profession to take care of your own health and well being, so yoga is one pathway I use to support myself so I can better help others."

🫶What is your favorite thing about practicing at Rise?

"I love the community feeling at Rise, and I'm excited to bring that to the prenatal/postpartum class I'll be teaching coming up in August/September. Community support and connection make the perinatal period so much easier, and we hope to offer that, along with the obvious physical and mental health benefits of yoga, through the upcoming class."

🌱What would you tell someone who is considering trying yoga for the first time?

"Yoga practice looks different for everyone and you can't really do it wrong. Just keep breathing and noticing what feels good in your body and avoiding movement that doesn't feel right to you."

🥰Thank you for being part of our community at Rise, Marie!

If you are interested in learning more about Marie’s perinatal yoga class at Rise, contact us to learn more and provide feedback on preferred day/time! We’re still taking requests 😊
