nd safely. Rod Bending Charters offer several different types of fishing trips to accommodate the needs of all anglers. Full or half day trips are available and corporate groups are welcome. Jetty fishing is a great trip for the whole family, it is a quick 15 minute boat ride and the expected catch will be redfish, trout, drum, whiting, jacks, mackerel and sharks. Shark fishing is action packed as you follow dragging shrimp boats and fishing chum lines your expected catch will be many different species of shark including black tip, lemon, bull, hammerhead and tiger. Deep sea fishing (30-50 miles offshore) is a full day of big fish action. Expected catch will be red snapper, grouper, ling, kingfish, mahi mahi, and shark. Out there you never know what you will catch. Trophy Bull Red fishing season is September thru November, these fish are pure muscle and are an average of 35 inches in length, some may grow to reach 50 inches in length. Winter flounder fishing season is late October thru December with November being the best month. Large numbers of flounder migrate through the Galveston Ship Channel.
