The technique improves flexibility and muscular symmetry while emphasizing balance and control. The Pilates exercises consist of both mat and machine work.

Pilates is a precision based form of exercise which first focuses on the core muscles, referred to as the "powerhouse" and then branches to strengthen and tone the entire body. Pilates accentuates quality of movement over quantity to promote the development of lean, long muscles and powerful mind-body control. Premier Pilates, LLC is a studio that offers private sessions with quality equipment from Balanced Body. Some of The Many Benefits of Pilates Include:

Improved posture, alignment and body awareness. Longer, leaner more flexible muscles while building strength. Increased core strength and stability. Improved balance and coordination. Promotes symmetry in the body to work with efficient movement patterns. Reduces stress and produces clarity of thought. Increases lung capacity and circulation. Increased range of motion. Corrects over-training of muscle groups which can lead to stress and injury. Compliments sports training and develop functional fitness for daily life activity.

It was an absolute privilege to partake in the BASI FCP 2026. This workshop was lead by Sondra Karman and Lauren Hovik | BASI Pilates. Their knowledge, hard work and passion really shine.
Meeting and working with these amazing women from all around the world is a moment I’ll cherish. The BASI family is truly global!
As we all went our separate ways to travel back across the world to go home, we said “see you soon“ this is not the end of a workshop, it is the beginning of a bright future!
Safe travels back home everyone!

As instructors, we spend so much time teaching, cueing, observing, and guiding others—but our own self-practice is just as crucial. 🤍

Self-practice is where we deepen our body awareness, refine our movement, explore new connections, and experience the work in our own bodies. It helps us become more intentional movers and more thoughtful, effective teachers.

It’s not about having a perfect practice or mastering every exercise. It’s about staying curious, continuing to learn, and making time to reconnect with our own movement.

You cannot pour into others without continuing to invest in yourself.

Show up for your own practice. Your body, your teaching, and your clients will benefit. ✨
