After an extensive search process, we are excited to announce that Chris Fleek has been selected as the next Grounds Superintendent at Fort Mitchell Country Club.
FMCC received applications from several highly qualified candidates and conducted multiple rounds of interviews throughout the selection process. After carefully evaluating each candidate's experience, leadership, vision, and fit for our Club, the search committee was unanimous in its decision that Chris was the right person to lead our golf course into the future.
While this may be a new role, Chris is certainly not a new face around Fort Mitchell Country Club.
Over the past four years, Chris has worked his way up through the grounds department, earning increased responsibility through his hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence. From his first day on the grounds crew to serving as Assistant Grounds Superintendent over the past year, Chris has consistently demonstrated an incredible work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for the game of golf and the profession of golf course management.
Over the past month, Chris has served as our Interim Grounds Superintendent, and in that short time he and the entire grounds team have done an incredible job continuing the transformation of our golf course. Members have already seen the positive impact of his leadership, attention to detail, and pride in the condition of the course. While there is still plenty of work ahead, there is no doubt Chris has the determination, vision, and leadership to continue moving our golf course forward.
Chris has played an integral role in the remarkable transformation of our golf course over the past year. His commitment to excellence is evident in every project he takes on, and his passion for delivering outstanding playing conditions has helped create a course our members are proud to call home. As our new Grounds Superintendent, he will continue building on that momentum while leading an outstanding grounds team.
Although Chris is stepping into a new leadership role, he remains committed to his own professional growth. He will continue pursuing education through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), attend industry conferences, and earn additional certifications to further develop his knowledge and bring new ideas and best practices back to FMCC. His dedication to continuous learning reflects his commitment to providing our membership with the highest quality golf course possible.
Chris will also work closely with both of our golf course leadership committees, the long term Golf Course Architecture & Aesthetics Committee and the Board's Greens & Grounds Committee. Together, they will continue developing and implementing both the long-range vision for our golf course and the annual improvement priorities that ensure Fort Mitchell Country Club continues to improve year after year.
As Chris begins this next chapter, we are excited to support him as he leads our outstanding grounds team. His leadership, passion, and vision for the future give us great confidence that the momentum we've built over the past several years will only continue.
